Can pros and cons be pointed out? I have a 6 year old son.

Depending on the time of year, BCV has the best pool so far. Don't know about AKV pool. If pool not inportant then BCV or BWV are equal. WLV only a boat ride to MK. OKW has largest room if you are a big family and SSR new and walk to DTD. So what I am saying is all 5 existing resorts are good, all in your likes and dislikes. AKV has no track record yet.

I think it depends most on the parks you plan to go to. For my wife and I we spend a majority of our time at Epcot - especially during the F&W Festival in October - so BWV makes the most sense for us. All of the pools are great, and for us the location is what drove our decision to pick BWV.

I find it interesting that people still look at the "older" resorts. For me as soon as AKV was available I knew I would not be buying at any of the others simply because of the extra years on the contract. As an investment it didn't make sense since per point price is about the same (unless you consider HH or OKW).

From a resort features point of view it didn't matter much even though we have a 4 year old and when the extended family gets together we have 6 children. What it comes down to is that we will have fun anywhere as we spend most of the time in the parks. That and we have never had a problem reserving at 7 months out even in the summer.

I am interested in this topic as well. We own at BWV and love it, but are considering a small 50 pt add-on at the same resorts as the OP. We are trying to decide if just getting a few more at BWV and then using them at the 7 mth window would make the most sense, or if the 11 mth window would be better. We love the local of the Epcot resorts but also love the themeing at AKV.

BTW we have a 6 yr old son as well (and an 18mth old). Both kids love the community hall at BWV.

For me, I like BWV and to say if you don't care about a pool than they are equal isn't exactly true. You don't get the great Boardwalk /Views at the BVC.
You also can't get the cheaper standard view rooms which are a great point saver and have better views than most of the BCV. Also the community hall is great and the pools are easier for watching young children. If it was still going to be there, I'd say the ESPN club is a major factor for our family. We will miss it dearly. I'm buying a small add on at AKV for one thing the VIEW of the animals. Otherwise each resort is different and not exactly equal unless the above things don't matter to you, they do to me. The AKV is also not in the middle of the action so if that is important to you especially as your kids become teenagers than it could be a drawback down the road. I want to use this resort as the time to unwind at the end of my trip. I don't plan on leaving my balcony LOL. I love animals and this resort view is really something special.
All the resorts have something wonderful to offer but they all are very different in feel. Even BWV and BCV. Joan

And the boardwalk views are OUTSTANDING!

Is the ESPN Club Closing???

This was my question too!!

Well, as far as the OP's question, I really think the answer is really personal. One person will swear one resort is the best, and another will swear up and down the other is the best. I think they are all three wonderful, and I think your 6 year old son would really be happy at any of them. So, I think the answer comes down to your preferences. What sort of view do you prefer? Restaurants? Do you care which parks you are closest too? Do you care if the resort is older or newer? Personally, I would snatch up any of them, but that's just me. You might have different preferences.

What a fun decision to make, though! Good luck!

I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. My personal favorite is BWV. We own there and at BCV.

Our GC are 9, 14, and 16. Youngest was 2 1/2 when we first took them. We had purchased BWV and later did an add-on at BCV just for GC to have Storm-a-Long Bay. They do like it but BWV is still by far their favorite. They like being on the BW, having the games and entertainment. Now that they are older, if we stay at BCV they take the boat over to BW every night.

I'm not going to buy AKL but I can't wait to stay there once.

BCV and BWV both are within walking distance to 2 parks which is a factor. Extended years is a factor for AKV. We love BWV and would think and would wait on an add on until contemporary is/is not announced.

BTW, there's a rumor that ESPN is moving to where Disney Quest is sometime in 2009 (??). That would be a major bummer as that's one of our favorite places to catch a beer and an app with some sports.
