BWV/OKW Question

Is is better to book a 2 bedroom BWV/OKW on my own through Disney and hope for a discount or should I rent points from a DVC member? I've been reading the DVC boards and the prices seem pretty reasonable. I am looking to book dates around 12/26/05-1/2/06 which I know is going to be very expensive. But have never rented points before and was wondering if anyone has a preference. I know that with DVC you do not get maid service. I'm torn with which way to go.

I have always booked trips through Disney, received confirmation letters and felt very secure about my trip. DVC could be a bit risky, but at the same time could save money. Also, I want to stay at a DVC resort so renting seems to make sense. Any advice would be appreciated.

I would rent points if I were you. It will be MUCH cheaper than going direct through Disney (especially that time of year).

I would suggest starting investigating this now as DVC members have an 11-month reservation window at their home resort and a 7-month window for all other DVC resorts. So to book a trip for 12-05 you will want to make reservations 1-05 to make sure you get the exact accommodations you would like.

As for the maid service, it is true you don't get daily maid service as in a hotel. You will get trash and towel service mid stay unless you request otherwise. You can add maid services to your reservation for a fee, but honestly, it is not needed.
