BWV - Is there really such a thing as different view categories on Member Cash?

Hey everyone, I figured I'd double check here with you guys on this. I've been totally out of the loop on DVC hehe (hanging out on Wedding boards mostly nowadays).

When you book a room at BWV using your Member Cash discount, do they really make a distinction of having different view categories?

I was always under the impression that when you book rooms using cash inventory, it could fall under any view. Whereas we know that when you book a room using points, it is definitely either Standard, Preferred, or Boardwalk view.

(I'm still a newbie at booking rooms with Cash through MS lol)

Usually you cannot get Standard view or BW view using cash because they go so fast to members using points.

Ah, okay, but they do exist in theory correct?

Like there is:

Member Cash BWV Standard View
Member Cash BWV Preferred View
Member Cash BWV Boardwalk View

Cash rooms are available at the discretion of DVC and I believe BWV Standard and Boardwalk view are excluded from availability.

Okay, so if someone at MS is telling me that they found a Standard View Studio for Member Cash, then should I be questioning whether that really is Standard View?

I wanted to link a Standard View Studio on points to it, but wasn't sure about doing it since I didn't even believe cash standard view existed!

The way I understood it is cash reservations at BWV through CRO are all listed as "standard view" but the reality is you get whatever is available when you check-in ("run of house"). Most of the time that is pool/garden since members take up the member standard and boardwalk views. I don't know if member cash through member services works the same. I would ask member services if they can officially "link" it.

Hm, well I checked back with them, and they said they can link it in the DVC Member Services system.

The first night would be using points, so I assume that would make it easier to not have to change rooms even though the next night would be on member cash with undesignated view?

I'm wouldn't be dealing with CRO at all for this. Just Member Services.

I just don't want my guests to have to change rooms!

I guess I was right to be skeptical about there being view categories... *sigh*
