Can anyone tell me what my chances are of being able to get a studio (any view) at BWV during Food & Wine (pref early to mid Oct) booking at 7 months (home resort is AKV)? :confused3 Thanks all.

Lots of people want to do that. Call as soon as you can (7 months from check in), and be prepared to wait list. Pixie Dust for you!pixiedust:

I would say there is a slim chance.. make sure you have a backup ressie somewhere first! I would think Standard and Boardwalk view would be next to impossible.

Based upon my experience, everywhere seems to be getting tougher to get, even OKW and SSR.

As more members are added it's going to get even worse.

Do you think that the new resorts openening might help with this? We are hoping to go to BC around that time next year for DH's birthday. If it remains difficult to get reservations, then we may need to consider an add-on.

It could help but I doubt it, BC and BWV are very popular especially for F&W festival. It is very convenient to walk out of the resorts and walk in the International Gate at Epcot. It wouldn't be to bad either though to catch the monorail from BLT.

When (and if) it becomes financially feasible I would like to add on at BWV.

I was wondering the same thing...with more Kidani phases coming online and BLT opening, will it help relieve some of the pressure? I totally understand that BWV and BCV are especially hot properties during Food & Wine because of their proximity to EPCOT...just wondering what the odds are for getting ressies there at 7 mo...or ressies at ANY resort at 7 mo. for Food & Wine for that matter??? Can you tell this will be (hpefully!) our first time at Food & Wine?!

All things equal, adding new resorts won't affect total demand for WDW DVC resorts since new members are being added with the new rooms.

If you assume the same percentage of, for example, AKV owners want to go to F&W as OKW and SSR owners, then availability remains fairly constant.

But adding the new resorts will probably make BWV and BCV harder than ever to get at the 7 month window for those times.

Just like the BLT MK view at 7 months. With only 40/80 rooms available, anyone who doesn't own at BLT might as well forget it.

I am using points at the 7 mos. mark in 2010. I just checked availability at BWV for October (3rd week) just to get an idea for 2010. I am an owner there, so I could check availability, even though I'm not using those pts. to make the ressie. Anyway, no studio available at all for Thurs, Fri, Sat night, in any category, at BWV. So if this is any indicator (plus I thought I would have better luck with the weekends), I wouldn't count on it.

Wow, well...that's good to know for anyone else who asks!:wave2:

Wow, that's pretty brutal! Thanks a bunch for the real-time data!!! Are you going to post this info on the DVC-Resort Reservation Availability thread? http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2050895

It's starting to sound like getting a 7 mo. ressie for Oct at a non-EPCOT area resort will even be a problem. I'd kind of like to use this opportunity try out something other than our home resort (AKV). Obviously, not exactly the ideal time of year to do that, but...

It's the F&W which is very very popular, not to mention MNSSHP over at MK. Still, don't give up, go on a waitlist...maybe you'll get it. I've gotten a reservation at OKW for an October stay one year.

I forgot :guilty: to call at the 11 month window to book our F & W stay for Oct 16-21... when i called last month..I was able to book a studio for the 16, 17 and 19 & 20...the 18th was booked all views..I called back yesterday to check on the waitlist and they had a BW view for the 18th..I have a preferred view for the other nights..I took it and stayed on the waitlist for a preferred view for the 18th.....I also looked into booking another studio at the VWL and they were open all those nights..so maybe at 7 months they may still be availablepixiedust:

Great information y'all. I appreciate it!

I'd say that's definitely been an increasing issue. As more of the population of DVC owners age and retire along with the rest of the boomers, the flexibility to go to WDW during the school year, for example, will only increase. And the low point, "off season" times of the year will get tougher and tougher at the 7 month mark. Just my thoughts anyway.

Wow I am surprised at the lack of availability already for October. I just called today and added a night to my trip (added the night of the 27th - a tuesday) and was able to get a boardwalk view. Also about 1 1/2 weeks ago I changed over my other reservation in October over columbus day weekend from a boardwalk view to a standard view no problem. That was a 4 night trip. Maybe I didn't have any problems because I book 1 bedrooms?

Good luck to all who are trying at the 7 month window!

There may be some openings when the BLT bookings open. We have a standard studio at BWV from Oct 16-26 but my wife may want to change a few days to BLT (I would prefer to bank and book BLT for 2010)...other folks may be considering the same option.

Are 1-bedrooms easier to get at BWV in October?

I just closed on a BWV resale and hope to be in the system early next week. I'll be a little ahead of the 7 month window, but obviously way behind other BWV owners.

I was able to book a preferred view studio at BWV for Thursday to Sunday the third week of October in 2008 at 7 months. Standard view, BWView, and BCV were all unavailable. WLed for BWView -- never came through, but we were happy to be at the BW.

I'm a little confused about someone checking October 2010 dates -- I think the 11 month window is only into January. Oh maybe they're trying to predict on the basis of 2009 availability.
