Call me crazy, but we just bought into BWV without ever having stayed there. Oh, we've been to Disney before... just haven't stayed at or even visted BWV. We DID do a lot of reading, including much good info here at the DISboards.

We're looking forward to our first trip down there early in '09 with our two boys, ages 9 & 8. Meanwhile, the anticipation is half the fun.

So, tell us what you like about the resort, what you don't like, what are your favorite rooms, best views, restaurants, activities, memorable events, fave time of the year, best pool area, or whatever else comes to mind!

That'll help pass the time 'til our first trip and hopefully bring back some pleasant memories for you.

Looking forward to hearing from our soon-to-be new neighbors!

Congratulations!! We purchased site unseen also. Infact it was just after our first ever trip to Disney at the CR. We are very glad we did and am not sorry for missing the tour on our first ever trip to Disney! Enjoy the planning.

Welcome to the DISboards.

Congratulations on your purchase....

and get back to the end of the "I bought BWV sight unseen" line. In 1998 we bought BWV without ever seeing it or ever staying at DVC. Many others have too. :)

Welcome to the club.......We joined up and bought into BWV sight unseen as well. Tell you what, we have not looked back and regretted anything. We have stayed 3 times and my family loves it there. Kids like love Park pool, I guess big clowns don't scare them. My wife loves the walk to Epcot or DHS. As an added bonus we all love the street performers on the Boardwalk at night. Its a great location......again congrats.

We purchased back in 98' sight unseen, and have never regretted it. This past Christmas I managed to get a grand villa for the entire family to be a Disney for the holidays. All 10 of us had a great time! Both sons and their families were there, and DD and her friend. It was a wonderful time that none of us will forget. We love BWV, what more can I say!!!!!

By the way, Welcome Home and to the boards. You will love staying there.

My favorite part about owning at BWV is being able to book the boardwalk view at 11 months. When I first bought, there was no dedicated boardwalk view and it was a gamble when you booked preferred view. After getting a quiet pool view the first time I stayed there in 2000, I booked standard view for the next 3 years to save points rather than gambling. But when it became guaranteed, I've booked boardwalk view everytime.

Another favorite part is the festive atmosphere in the evenings. The guy playing piano on a bicycle, the side shows. I went on a solo trip the year after my mom died and I was considering selling but the last evening I was walking along the boardwalk and it hit me that I couldn't give it up.

Congrats! My boys (10 and 7) love the Boardwalk. They love the pool, the arcade, everything. We all love the close proximity to the parks and the entire atmosphere of the place especially at night.

Boardwalk views are our favorite. Nothing beats watching Illuminations from the balcony. We have gone in March, May, and October (and my parents have gone in December). Every season has been great there. We trick or treated there one Halloween, and we loved looking at the Easter Eggs that the different areas of the staff made for a competition just a few weeks ago.

I think you will love the Boardwalk!

Congratulations! We bought into SSR sight unseen and had only seen the preview models of AKV and not the actual resort when we did an add-on there. We haven't regretted our decisions. BWV is charming and we're looking forward to staying there in July. :goodvibes

Walking around late at night.

Back in the days before MYW tickets, hubby and I would always look for something to do outside the parks on our 1st evening at WDW. So back in 2002, we decided to check out the boardwalk entertainment area for our 1st evening adventure.

It was wonderful! We strolled along the boardwalk, listened to the strolling musicians, and saw the fun surry bikes. We strolled all the way around the lake and played putt putt next to the Swan & Dolphin. We also dined at ESPN that night. The fun, the atmosphere, the twinkling lights, (oh wow!) Later in the week, we came back through from Epcot and rented a small boat and went from the rental place to the studios and back. Fantastic!

We were also bitten by the DVC bug on that trip, but decided that 150 points was just too much for us. When we found the resale sites with less than 150 points, we jumped on it! We knew just where we wanted to buy too!

I have only walked through the Boardwalk lobby, and we bought this Fall. We will be there soon, can't wait!! Have a Boardwalk view reserved.

Going to BWV for the 1st time in a few months with a 5 and 2.5 year old, any hints?

Welcome Home!!!
Here's some pictures of our view from a BW view 1 bdr. last July. We love this resort so much we are headed back this summer.
You're going to love it there!

It is the most expensive property in Monopoly, it must be good:thumbsup2

Just kidding, I own there as well as 3 other properties....It is my favorite.

In loving memory of Richyams!
"It's awful! LOOOOOONG hallways, tiny kitchens and rooms where you can sit on the sofa and reach a beer in the fridge. etc, etc, etc...;)

I too just purchased sight unseen and will be closing soon. Thanks so much for starting this wonderful thread. I can't wait to make my first trip home!

I have BWV too.

Didn't buy site unseen but have stayed at Disney more times than I can remember and BWV was the motivator of actually buying DVC.

It's beautiful and you'll have a great time! :thumbsup2

You can add me to the list of buying sight unseen and have never stayed in a DVC before! We are waiting to close as well and can't wait until our first stay in BWV.

Nice pics. You must REALLY be a night owl... no one else is up, lol.

Congratulations!! The Boadwalk is my home resort as well and I love it. I bought in 1999 and have never regretted. I love being able to book at the 11 month mark for a boardwalk room. The only down side I don't like is the room service for lunch/dinner. Breakfast is the best, it is from the Boardwalk Bakery but lunch/dinner is in my opinion not very good.

I have found that January, February, October & December have been good months.

Have fun and enjoy.

Jennifer
