BWV Handicap Accessible Grand Villa

Can anyone tell me about this Grand Villa. MS just told me I had a handicap Grand Villa. I did not request it, nor do we need it. My gut tells me to try to get it switched since we need tubs for 2 toddlers in our party. But not sure if that is even an option at this point. We arrive in 4 days.

I never had a grand villa, looking so forward to it! What exactly will be different in this HA unit?

Not sure about the Handicap GV at the Boardwalk but at others you still have a tub. The shower will be a roll in shower in the master bedroom only. You should have 3 or 4 bathroom all with a tub. I am guessing you will still have the whirlpool tub in the master bedroom also. Susan

I also have not been in a BWV GV but have had HA units including a 1BR at BWV so I'll just be talking about things you would find in a fully accessible unit. As was mentioned the shower in the master will most likely be a roll-in which means you'll have a shower curtain for the space instead of an enclosed stall. You just have to be careful with water spray. You should still have the whirlpool tub in the Master and all the other bathrooms will have tubs so you won't have to worry about that.

There will probably be grab bars for the bathroom and a higher toilet in the master and perhaps in one or both other bathrooms. Light switches may be lower on the walls and the counters in the kitchen may be a little lower. The microwave should be on the counter instead of above the stove and the height of the bed in the master may be dropped a few inches.
