These are pictures of the old siding vs the new siding. I must say it really looks good.....

Our room overlooked Luna pool and just the middle sectionwas under wraps.... Not bad. I even thought........ Gee what is everyone in a stir about... not much construction going on, The whole Boardwalk area is complete....

Then we rode the boat to MGM and this is what we saw

The whole wing near S&D was under wraps..... Sorry the pictures are outta sequence.... but you get the idea.

Thanks for the pix- it looks like the old siding was faded out by the sun- after only 5 years! Hope the new siding lasts longer.

Yes the old siding really looked old and very dirty.... The new stuff looks bright and cheery!

It does look like the bulk of the standard views are under wraps.

I wanted to add the wing across from our room (behind the clown) were all empty upon our arrival... no furniture on the decks, no lights on at night.... two days later deck furniture appeared and that night we saw some lights on.... we guessed they just reopened all those rooms.

I am and was throwing up just about everyday. I could only keep down soups.... although I ordered food... I couldnt eat it. It was also hard to keep hydrated.....

BUT We did have a great time. I hope to write some sort of trip report when I feel up to it............

Sorry to hear about your morning sickness in WDW. But I hope you had a good time with DH otherwise.

I heard that the refurbishing was due to faulty materials being used by the original contractor. Maybe this siding will hold up a little longer!

Pooh...... I beleive it is the Villa side they are working on now.... as to when they will be done.... I havent a clue. But I can tell you this... for the 3 days we were there we didnt see anyone working in the area.....

ncligs.... yes DH and I had a lovely time. It was nice to just hang out with each other..... no kids to worry about.... just us. We held hands A LOT. Something we dont get to do as often as we would like (they are busy holding our kids hands! LOL) We did attempt a couple of romantic meals..... but they didnt go over very well.... too ill to deal with food.

Boardwalk Garry.... as you can see from the photos... the siding is in terrible shape.... It is hard to beleive it is only 5 years old. The new stuff looks great, lets hope it stays that way!

Oh GOD!!! Laura, I'm really concerned We have a standard view reserved for November... I see all the rooms facing the tennis courts look to have scaffolding over them (but they are not wrapped, are there people staying in them?) What about the rooms that overlook the driveway up to the BW entrance? Are those also "under wraps", I'm so upset... I like to sit on the balcony & I hope there's no scaffolding outside our room

S&D is the Swan and Dolphin(CARP) towards the back of BWV on your way towards MGM.....

Most of the front (Broadwalk views) and 95% of the Luna pool views are complete. BOth DH and I thought they were almost done with the restoration until we took the boat to MGM.

I will see if I can find a map of BWV and I will post it....

I cant tell if the siding under the scaffolding is done or not.... it might be, and they havent gotten around to taking the scaffolding down. BUT I do know that the rooms under the scaffoding are not in use...... if that is any comfort.

Also the whole front (driveway area) seems to be finished. We really didnt see any scaffolding anywhere but the midsection by the luna pool and the backside of the Villas (towards MGM) Until our boat trip to MGM we both thought they were very close to being done.

WOW! That first picture had RED siding on it??!! If you didn't show the 2nd picture with new siding I would have thought it was supposed to be pink!

There is a small area that overlooks the luna pool that is under wraps.... it is kinda of opposite 'J' on the map... From that point down (on the map) still needed to be done.... But the otherside (behind the Clown) was complete.....
It seemed to us that they had just completed the far side of the Luna Pool area (the side closest to the quiet pool) just days before we arrived. There was no patio furniture on the decks, and no signs on anyone in the rooms.... two days later.... furniture showed up and so did the people.

The bulk of the construction starts on the far end of the Luna pool area(where you just see scaffolding but not wraps, in my photos), but cant be seen from the Luna pool.... does that make sense? Then that WHOLE section that surrounds the quiet pool is competely covered. All the way to the Tennis court area. BUT Only on the water side.... the driveway side is finished. SO is the Broadwalk side....

Seems they are nearing the end of the redo.....

I hope some of the above makes sense.....

We requested BWV and didnt get it..... Most of the preferred view rooms are completed.... it is the standards that are not finished.... So my thoughts are your request 'odds' are the same as they always were.....
