BWV Community Hall Question

There are some books in Community Hall, will they let us take a couple of them back to our room?

Probably. Just ask the CM - there's always at least one somewhere in the area, usually staffing the video tape check out station.

I am not positive about this, but I think you can take the books, as well as board games. I am certain you can take Video tapes as we have done this. Free to DVC members.

Yes, you are allowed to take the books back to your room. You just sign them out just like you do the videos and games.

No one has ever asked us for a card showing that we were staying at the BWV while we were using the facility but I have heard that it is for the use of guests of the Boardwalk only. It is a great feature of the BWV.

Community Hall is only for guests of the Boardwalk, but that doesn't stop others from using it. We were spending time at Community Hall in August when we began chatting with a family who were staying at the Polynesian Resort but who had spent the afternoon swimming at Luna Park and enjoying the free activities at Community Hall. They certainly didn't act as if they knew they were doing anything wrong and I'm sure no CM asked them if they were staying at the Boardwalk.

At least they were WDW guests! I wonder how many people visit Community Hall when they're not even staying on property.

Now we all know that every time you ask a question, you are subject to a different answer, but I called MS's about this very issue before our trip last May. My question was could we use the Community Center if we were staying at BCV? I was put on hold while they checked for an answer, and when she came back, she said that we should feel free to head over there whenever we desired.

We were never questioned about it during our stay, and when I was speaking with one of the CMs, she said that they see members who are staying at BCVs on a fairly regular basis. This is just my experience, YMMV.

I guess it makes sense to allow DVC members staying on points to use Community Hall, just as we are allowed to pool hop to BWV if staying at BCV. And I've never seen Community Hall so crowded that you couldn't enjoy yourself there (though folks do tend to hog the air hockey and ping pong table).
