BWV Clown Pool Question

Last week our family pool hopped to the BWV clown pool. There was a very strong mildew/mold/ick smell in the air there, especially on the side of the pool by the children's play structure. Is this normal? Does it happen often? Or did we just end up there on a bad day?

I always have wanted to stay (and maybe even buy points) at the Boardwalk (dh opposed) but after this experience at the pool...eeewwww! If I knew the smell was a one-time abberration, I'd be comforted, but if this is how it always is...I guess the Boardwalk isn't for us.

We were there from 1.21- 1.26 and were where you are referencing, which is right next to the kiddie pool. We did not smell any mildew or any musty smell. We had our 10 month there in the kiddie pool and sitting on the little slide (holding onto Mommy) and had my wife smelled anything out of the ordinary, she would have noticed.

I have a more urgent question. Has anyone noticed that their kids develope nightmares revolving around the "Vomiting Clown" at the Boardwalk Pool? We love the BW and would like to add on there, but my 3 year old is afraid of clowns.

Interesting that you mention that area in particular: I always remember the small of bleach/ chlorine on the side near the play structure. Maybe they skipped a day with the bleach?
