I have a 1 bedroom standard view at BWV for February at 84 points total, but I could get a Garden/Pool view or a Boardwalk view for 105 points. (Our reservation is for VWL for 105 right now.)

We've never stayed at BWV, but I've always thought it would be worth the point savings to stay in a standard view. What do you think? Is a view worth 21 extra points for three nights? Which view do you like best?

TIA.

A boardwalk view, yes. Pool/garden, no.

I agree. We've done both and my feeling is that all the excitement of people watching, Boardwalk activities, fireworks....are all to be seen with that Boardwalk view. Now that being said, we are the type of people who enjoy hanging at the resort as well as the parks. If your room is just a pit stop, then I guess the view is a moot point.

We love the Boardwalk view and spend the extra points to have it. I do agree, however, that it wouldn't be worth it for pool/garden.

We definitely like to enjoy our villa. I think you just changed our minds. :) Thanks.

Since owning I have stayed at all 3 view categories. While BWV is by far the best, we stayed standard once (and only once). We were blessed with being above the loading bay to the left of the main entrance :(. After 6 days of listening to the trucks backing up I would never stay standard again. The one time we stayed and BWV was not available our garden view was overlooking the waterway and we could watch the friendship boats ferry guests to MGM. Much better!

we are BW view addicts (tho had to waitlist part of our oct 2013 vaca, as sandy messed us up for a while:().

for us, the view and room itself is a big part of our vacation, and makes our time spend at resort special vs ordinary.
of course, everyone is different, but we feel points are definately worth spending on seeing the lake, BW, spaceship earth, etc from your balcony....whenever you want :cloud9:

We own BW and have only done pool garden once (short notice trip).

When we have points to burn or are treating guests, we do Boardwalk View.

When we are hording points for an extra night, or to bring guests who we want to impress, standard works fine.

Right now we have more points than we really want, so we stay Boardwalk View.

We are always happy enough with the standard view. We're pretty conservative with our points but have occasionally booked the "better" views. It just wasn't worth the extra to us though.

I was able to switch the reservation over to Boardwalk view. Of the three nights, we'll probably get take out and enjoy lazing around one of those.

Are the villas on the right side of Boardwalk when facing the resort? I'm assuming you can see the Illuminations fireworks from all the BWV boardwalk view rooms?

All BW view rooms can see Illuminations. Higher floors and the rooms farther from the elevators have slightly better views of fireworks.

We like to sleep in and spend time relaxing in the room and on the balcony so we book preferred view and request the quiet pool area. It's a nice break from the cars, buses & hectic pace of the parks. Although it would be nice to save points, we just know we would not be happy with the view & possible noise from a standard view room.

You can see the outside of all the boardwalk view rooms here: http://www.google.com/imgres?hl=en&...dsp=24&ved=1t:429,r:23,s:0,i:156&tx=136&ty=83

You can where they are located from an aerial view here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1801651

You can see the illuminations fireworks from all the boardwalk view rooms; likewise you can also see MK fireworks though more off in the distance.
