I will be staying at BWV this coming Aug for the first time (OKW owner) and was wondering if anyone would like to share the "non-advertised" features and special things to see and do at BWV. BWV owners seem quite passionate about owning there (like OKW owners) and I would enjoy hearing some insight as to what makes it so special to each of you.

BWV is prime location. If you love EPCOT your are a five minute walk. MGM is a little bit longer of a walk but you can beat the boat. I dont know if you have kids or not so Ill give you a little for both.

Without kids. Jelly Rolls is the plaace. It is a blast, get there early so you can get a table. This spot has become very popular. Spoodles is great for dinner as well as the ESPN Club. The ESPN is more for a quick bite and a few drinks but a really good time (try the wings). There is a great court yard by the boat dock. Great for sitting and relaxing. Rent the bikes for a fun ride (also great with the kids). Plenty of area to take a long walk around the pond.

With Kids. Great shows go on on the board walk. Jugglers, ropers. Face painting. We like to let the kids run around and play in the courtyard. There are benches there so you can sit and relax while the kids have a blast and you can still keep and eye on them. Our DS and DD love it. There are some carnival type games on the boardwalk and shops.

Hope this was a little helpful. We love staying at BWV so much to do and so close to so many things.

I guess I was looking more for the "insider" type stuff. Things like maybe a certain location for a certain view or maybe a spot that you can see something that you cannot see elsewhere. Or like, on such and such a day it is tradition to do such and such. Or maybe like the sunsets (or rises) over the lake illuminating the waterfront - things specific to the BWV.

MicNut713 - that was very helpful - things like "Jelly Rolls is the plaace. It is a blast, get there early so you can get a table. This spot has become very popular." - Very insightful - 'There is a great court yard by the boat dock...' - stuff like that is great!!!

Some like examples at OKW - Sitting; drinking a cup of java on the balcony/patio watching the sunrise is absolutely breath taking. From Turtle Pond to the HH is a 10-12 minutes walk. Watching the golfers can be very entertaining (both good and bad golfers). The buses always stop at the HH last before going to its destination so you can get on any bus to go the HH (not just the internal bus). There are tables outside in front of the game room at the HH so you can sit outside and relax while the kids play games of all types (arcade, ping pong, checkers, pc's, etc.) while still keeping an eye on them.

One of my first stays at the BW was a view of the Swan/Dolphin complex (this would be a preferred view....I was staying on cash prior to becoming a member), the twinkling of all the lights and the fountains on top, the MGM boats going by....all just magical! Although this seems obvious, just don't see that many folks taking advantage of the ambiance of sitting on the "porch" overlooking Crescent Lake. Great place to sit out a thunderstorm while enjoying a cup of coffee or....!!Another spot to relax is the little deck outside the lounge in the Inn side....we sat out there prior to our dinners at the Flying Fish and played gin rummy while the sun set. And if the main pool is too crowded go over to the quiet pool on the Inn side, hardly anyone ever there (it is a little bit of a walk but nothing serious) and I think its the prettiest quiet pool on property! ::MinnieMo

Hi Kid

BWV owners since 98. Here are some "insider" tips.

At night, Illuminations from the bridge between the Dance Hall and the Yatch Club.
Even better, find a spot on the boardwalk handrail with a bench near the boat dock ( be there at 9:00 on a night that Wishes is running ). At 9:00 you can see ROE on your right. About 15 minutes later look across the lake at the windmill in the Yatch and Beach Clubs pool area and you can see Wishes just fine :earseek:

I loved BWV. We also stayed in Aug. The pool is awesome and of course you can't beat the location. We had a one bedroom overlooking the quiet pool and the canal. It was a perfect location. We could see the tower of terror from our balcony and sitting there in the morning drinking coffee watching the activity in the canal was so peaceful and relaxing. Enjoy!!! :Pinkbounc

Only if Wishes is scheduled for that time......Many times of the year it's at 6 or 7 pm.

Our favorite is sitting out on the porches, under the fans, rocking and watching the lake.

If you have a room overlooking the canal around the area of the quiet pool, the sunsets are the best over the canal. Sit on your balcony and watch - you would not know you were at WDW it is so quiet and serene.

These are exactly the types of things I was/am looking for!!!
Thank you so much and please keep'em coming...
