DS and wife will be staying at BWV/AKV for honeymoon in November. They will not have a car. On checkout BWV/check in AKV day, they plan to go to MK (maybe stay for afternoon parade).

I suggested taking luggage to Bell Services, catch bus by 8 a.m. to get to MK by rope drop. Then, return by bus to BWV to get luggage and have Uber (or taxi) take them to check in to AKV around 4:00 or so.

What do you think? How is the bus from the BWV to MK? How early should they plan to be at the bus stop? They will not have park hoppers, so they can't go through Epcot to catch the monorail.

I would recommend that they have their luggage transferred by Disney. They just need to get it Bell Service at BWV before they leave for MK and ask them to transfer it to AKV then they don't have to come back to BWV and can take a bus directly from MK to AKV.

Regarding the BWV bus I'm guessing MK opens at 9am if you're suggesting they get a bus at 8am? That should allow plenty of time.

I agree, getting from BWV to AKV might be a chore on the buses. They would probably have to take a bus from BWV to a park or DTD, and then switch to the AKV bus. Or if they took a taxi like you said, AKV is kind of off by itself, a taxi ride might be $20 just between those two resorts. Let Disney do the luggage lifting, unless they're just picky about not letting anyone else transfer bags.

I agree with Kathy (KAT4DISNEY).

Have Bell Services transfer luggage and then catch a bus to AKV after spending the day at MK.

Several choices...
1. Hand off luggage to Bell Services by 8:00am (you may not see the bags again until past 5pm! Take anything you might need with you!). Head to MK, enjoy the park. After the parade, take the bus to AKL.

2. Leave bags with Bell Services at BW. Head to MK. After the parade, bus back to BW, get a cab to AKL, with your luggage.

3. Take cab to AKL early in the morning...maybe 7:30. Check in, leave bags with Bell Services. Head to MK for the day, return when room is ready.

They should call bell services before 7am to make sure their luggage is picked up in time to make th MK bus. Or they can bring the luggage to bell services themselves. Using Disney to move luggage is great. Take whatever you might need with you then go right to AKL when the MK park day is over. No need to spend $$ on a taxi. Online check in is great too.

Thanks for all the advice! I will be sure to let them know the options.

#1 - sounds like the best, but I'm wondering if Disney has ever lost anyone's luggage in this process...
#2 - my thought, but it does involve $ and a bit of back and forth.
#3 - Good suggestions but, again, $ and possibly time consuming when trying to get to MK before rope drop.

There's been at least one where luggage was misplaced during transfer, but it was found and delivered. I've yet to see a post where someones luggage was lost and never found.

I have used Disney to move luggage during my many split stays. Never a problem.

We often have Disney move the luggage. We've had the new resort miss bringing up groceries, but they were transferred and they just had to go downstairs and retrieve. But yes, we had a piece of luggage left at the Boardwalk and not transferred to VWL. They located it quickly and someone ran it right over. I still have no qualms about having Disney do the transfer.

Luggage transfer was amazing! We called, they came up and got it at BCV, and it was to AKV by 330 (they don't start delivering transfers til 3 - at least according to what we were told). They brought it straight to our room and carried it to our bedrooms.

I'd say let them do it as well...Thats one of the perks about staying on property..

BTW, the bus to MK from BWV was terrible when we stayed there last...Waaaay to many stops...
1st BWV/I then Swan, then Dolphin, then YC, then BCV..then finally off to MK, and the return was worse because we would be the last stop, & not the 1st...That was annoying.. We'd just get off at Swan & walk back...:crazy2::crazy2:

I agree with KAT4Disney, have bell services transfer the luggage. This will free up your loved ones time for more enjoyable matters, and WDW wants it this way :-)

Thanks for all the comments about Disney transferring the luggage!

That's too bad, but I guess being first stop means you definitely get a seat! :)

The last few times we've stayed at BWV (in the last year) the bus was shared with S&D only, and BW was the first stop. YC and BC shared a separate bus. And a week ago when we stayed at POR (out of points, darn it) the bus stops were separated that way, so I think it's permanent now.

Not when your a respectable guy. I'm always giving my seat up too whomever. Elderly Mothers w/ small kids. Girls , boys of all ages it doesn't matter. Even other Dads that have to hold onto there lil ones, so never did I sit on any of our trips to AK or MK or returning.

Well thats great news for sure, because it was disastrous going to n from MK/

That's why i like to sit at the back of the bus. Since the first standers generally stop at the back door and block anyone else from standing way in the back, it's often a guilt-free seat ;)

I believe the route is adjusted during certain times. I have been on the 5 stops route one trip then the next trip only had S&D.
