Holy Cow. I am usually not one to complain about DVC at all but this was just amazing. The bus service at BWV SUCKS! We own at Saratoga and have heard other people complaining about the buses there. I did not understand them because I have never had issue there. But I'm pretty laid back and don't get worked up about things.

I could not believe how horrible the bus service was at BWV. Twice at MK we waited for over 15 minutes for a bus and then ended up hopping on a BCV buss and walking back to BWV. Then we tried to catch the bus from BWV to DTD one night and that took about 20 minutes for a bus to show up. I have been to SSR several times now and have never seen this type of waiting before. It was just terrible.

I enjoyed the rest of BWV a lot, just not the busses.

I sense a little drama here.........I don't think waiting 15 min. for a bus is unreasonable. There are always the taxi's...........:3dglasses

our experience is that SSR has the absolutely best bus transportation, and
BWVs trans is pretty much in line with all the other DVCs.

fortunately, all the resorts excel in certain areas & might not be as strong as a different resort in another (e.g., BWV's nightlife & trans to EPCOT/DHS are excellent, SSR's "quiet walkways" are actually quiet ~ strong points for each, perceived weaknesses for the other).

We stayed here in November/December and had some bus trouble. We'd watch all of the places come then start on the second round before. A coupld of time people were getting irate about the line length because you knew everyone wouldn't be getting on the next bus. The person watching had another bus take us there twice. So it was an unusual route. We just watched our timing. My dh didn't like sharing the bus with the Swan and Dolphin. However, we loved being able to walk to Disney Studios and Epcot. It saved a lot of time when we went to those 2 places. I especially enjoyed it. We rarely took the buses because found the walk to be faster and I'm not a fast walker.

Sorry you thought the waits were long Kristine, I think 15 -20 minutes is a great time. I've waited that long for a taxi so maybe my preciption is a bit skewed

Yeah, 15-20 minutes is a great wait time.

Personally, because I've experienced longer waits than that I'll always rent a car, and that's what you should do also. Especially if you're going to whine about 15-20 minute waits.

I agree, 15-20 minute waits are about average for buses at WDW. I've waited a lot longer than that before. I usually don't start getting antsy until about the 30 minute mark. Even then I don't get too bent our of shape. I do have to agree that BWV does have some pretty lousy bus service from time to time. We've waited nearly an hour for a DD bus there before.

I stayed at BWV for the first time in December with two friends. (DH's and kids stayed home). The wait times for the buses were not bad. I didn't like having to stop at the other resorts. I actually didn't realize they shared buses with Swan/Dolphin, etc. Of course, that is my own fault. I felt like I was back at a Value resort with how crowded the buses were going to the parks and leaving!

I thought the bus service at SSR was perfect when we were there in September.

Even though BWV was not my favorite DVC resort, walking to two parks is definately reason to stay there again!!

15-20 is what I expect to wait for a bus. Starts pushing 30 min and I see multiple buses for the park I am not going to, then I start getting nuts.;)

I will admit the AK route of "stop at every hotel in the BW area is a bit much". (BW,Swan, Dolphin, YC, BC, OH MY!)

Is it me or do DTD buses go really slow no matter where you stay? If you are at SSR, I would rather walk(kind of like waiting for the boat at DHS if you are staying at BWV).

In February I was at the BWV the only thing that is a bit long is the ride back from DD, after the first time we actually just got off at the dolphin and walked over to the BW that made it seem so much shorter....

Well, that is what happened at MK. We saw several buses for resorts pick them up twice before our bus had come once. The people in the front of the line had been waiting over 30 minutes. I think that is to long. I guess I am just used to SSR. And I am not being dramatic at all. I am a very laid back person. I just expected the bus service I got at SSR. Guess I know better next time.

We think the buses at WDW can't be beat. In fact I would bet there's not a lot of city bus lines that are as good as the WDW bus system. A 20 minute wait for a WDW bus beats a 10 minute drive to work!!!:cool1: Besides long waits makes bus driver WDW rumors that much more fun!:lmao:

Honestly, I know I'm new to this whole DVC thing and haven't even closed on our contract yet but if 15 to 20 minutes is a really long wait for a bus then I'm psyched:thumbsup2 ! I have usually stayed at moderate resorts like Caribbean Beach or Port Orleans Riverside and we go once a year, pretty much since the millennium. 15 to 20 minutes for a bus is pretty much right on schedule. So to now to hear the that is some sort of horror show honestly make me even more excited that we are going to finally buy in on DVC. I guess everything is relative.:cool1:

Last week at SSR the buses were running 15 to 20 mins. Seemed like normal wait times. We may have waited a little longer at times but no big deal.

Wait. So you waited 15-20 minutes for that bus, but the folks ahead of you waited 45-50 minutes for the same bus?

Yes, that is a bit much.

I'd have given up by then, hopped the monorail and walked through EPCOT to get back. Might be about the same time, but way more interesting.

Right, that is exactly what I am saying. The poor people at the front of the line looked just exhausted with their little kids but were laughing everytime a bus went by that was not a BWV bus. They had been waiting for a LONG time for that bus. We I heard that, that is when we decided to hop the BCV bus that showed up. A lot of other people in the line followed suit.

We had the same issue at OKW last week. We waited over 30 minutes at least 4 different times and almost 40 twice. I went to concierge and they called the bus manager for me to report the issue. I wasn't as upset with the waits as I was that as we stood there, three or four different buses would pull up at the same stop with no one to get on. There was one time that a bus pulled in behind another one to wait while the 1st bus was picking up only about 10 people. Of course, the 2nd bus had no one to pick up. And we had about 20 people in our line and we had been waiting for at least 30 minutes at this point. One of the bus drivers told us they are implementing some new process. It was absolutely crazy!

With all the technology out there, why in the world does a man have to sit in a van at the bus entrance to MK to tell the buses where to go next?

We didn't let it get us down but I hope that they get the issue resolved soon. If I had been in line with young kids, I would have been much more upset. I felt bad for the bus drivers because some were taking it out on them. I made sure the bus drivers knew about the ridiculous waits and crazy pickup schedule but made sure that I didn't take it out on them.

How is the bus service from Beach Club or Old Key West. Is it a far walk from your Villa to bus transportation? Thanks! ;)

Watching 2-3 buses for every bus from your resort is a bit furstrating. But 15-20 minutes diesn't seem outrageous.
