BWV - Boardwalk View - Noise?

Thinking of a 1-bedroom Boardwalk View but concerned about noise at night. Does it quiet down after 11pm or could it be loud til the wee hours of the morning?

We'd be there on a Friday and Saturday night.

I would definitely request an upper floor.

jelly rolls is open until late at night. if you are in the rooms near that (such as "the wave" section) there will be many people hanging around outside the club. adn the atlantic dance hall is near. also espn club is on the other end of the baordwalk (the Inn side) so people do to walk back and forth bet ween espn and jelly rolls. but there aren't usually any huge crowds.

We've only been bothered by noise from the boardwalk when we've been assigned a room on a low floor. I remember being woken up at 2am when some folks leaving Jelly Rolls were lingering out on the boardwalk right below our room talking very loudly (shouting actually). We were on the second floor and it seemed like these folks were partying on our balcony.

On our most recent stay, we were on the 5th floor in the last room (right next to Jelly Rolls). If there was any noise coming from either the club or the boardwalk, we couldn't hear it from up there.

We were on the 5th floor in February, Saturday and Sunday before President's Day. I didn't hear any noise coming from the boardwalk. The only noise I heard was a really loud bird at 5am that would not shut up. LOL

We just stayed on the 5th floor in the Crest O' the Wave section last weekend and there was definitely noise well into the morning hours, but it certainly did not bother us as that's why we stayed on the BW side. Curtains stayed open all open so whenever we woke up we could see that "purplish-colored moon thing" that happened to be out EVERY night of our trip over in the direction of Epcot. Lots of people going to Jelly Rolls and the Dance Club. We assumed there was a local high school prom going on based on the amount of kids with evening gowns and suits. The BW performers went pretty late into the evening as well. BW view is one of the best room locations on the entire property in our opinion.

I find it to be noticeable but not too annoying. In addition to Jelly Rolls, Big River Brewing has its patio that can be full of drunks. Friday and Saturday can be prime wedding party nights.

I think it depends a little on how you live - if you live in a city, Boardwalk is pretty quiet. If you live in a rural area where normally you hear crickets and frogs - it can be quite loud - even with all the patio doors closed.

It is real and happens but I've also been most affected by it on a low floor. Of course someone has to get the low floors. Almost worse IMO is that early in the morning when Disney starts the day there are carts rolling across the boardwalk. Almost as loud and more annoying for this non-morning person than those exiting Jelly Rolls and sharing their exuberance.

I agree with crisi that "noisy" is subjective. We always stayed BW view and since we needed an HA room we always were on 2nd floor. A couple of times over the years there were drunks literally shouting when Jellyrolls closed. Other than that, we never had a problem. Closing the drapes is helpful. We actually loved the hustle and bustle of the BW view rooms and the sound of the Friendship Boat horns. If you are worried about noise, your plan to ask for a higher floor is a good idea.

I always request top floor and usually get 3, 4 or 5 and it hasn't been a problem but I'm not a light sleeper. We did get 2nd floor right above Big River one time, it was June and people were out late. That time it was more noisy. Especially when someone screamed out "people are trying to sleep up here!".

The worst we had was a top floor room over Big River Brewing. We could actually make out the conversations below with the doors closed - people were THAT loud - at 11:30 PM, on the top floor. It was - according to the Security guy at the Belle Vue Room the next night having a beverage after work - a really loud wedding party that they had many complaints over.

Both of our BWV stays that were Boardwalk view were on the second floor. Both stays we were awakened by rowdy intoxicated patrons ( 2am). We don't book Boardwalk view anymore.

I have 2 Boardwalk view rooms booked for my family members for our October trip. We have never stayed Boardwalk view. We are all rural people who hear crickets and frogs at night. Now I'm worried. I hope I didn't make a mistake. I'll feel so bad if they can't get any sleep. I'm sure it's too late to change it now. I'll definitely tell them to request upper floor.

I bring ear plugs anywhere I travel. It would help if you did get a lower floor. And not every night is loud with people on the Boardwalk but coming from a rural area it is likely to be more obvious but some people are more sensitive than others. With us, DH sleeps thru anything - even me trying to wake him. Me - I hear the strange non-customary sounds until I get into a deep sleep. Maybe also get accustomed to a white noise app just in case?
