Bwv at seven months out?

We are planning our trip from sept 2012. We are going sept 22. - 28. Our home resort is akv and will make reservations 11 months out. Any chance of getting a one bedroom at bwv at 7 months? I would prefer an epcot view bit would take whatever is there. I know during the f&w fest it pretty much impossible but I think this is right before that starts.

I was able to get a 2 bedroom, BW view, at the 7 month mark for this August (we just got back last night).

In 2009, we got a studio as well--it was preferred view, not boardwalk, but it was available.

I think you should have a shot of getting something during that time. It is a great resort!

I've always been successful booking BWV, standard & preferred view at 7 months. Honestly I've never had an issue booking any of the resorts at 7 months!

I am glad you asked this question as I had the same one.

We are just back home a week tomorrow, and we are planning for next year. I took the family down to see BWV, and the show rooms were open, they liked the rooms and the overall feel of the resort. The kids noticed the rooms felt bigger than BLT (our home). Guess no more studios for us

As someone totally new to this, I am planning to book BLT at 11 months then try for the BWV at 7 months... We are looking for a 1 bedroom Aug 3 - 16th 2012...Glad to hear I may stand a chance.

If you go before F&W, you aren't likely to have a problem with getting something right at seven months, and you might even get Boardwalk View (that's the one that faces Epcot) - I'd even say probably if you were travelling a week earlier. Once F&W starts, getting rooms at BWV gets harder - not impossible - but harder. Even Boardwalk View and Standard View aren't impossible, but you do need a fair bit of luck.

Availability is strange - no one can really predict with absolute confidence when a sudden flash mob will book up a resort (a few years ago, BCV had rooms, but SSR was booked full at something like four months), or when there will be availability when it was unlikely (people have been known to luck into short notice standard view at BWV during F&W). We can only give odds.

Just booked a 2 bdr at BWV- garden view for end of January. She said I had a pretty wide open pick for that time of the year. I do know that the fall is a busier time, so don't wait too long.

We own at BWV and VWL this year I needed to use my VWL points to book our sept 28th to oct 2nd trip in a 2 bedroom villa at the 11 month mark i then called exactly at my 7 month window to switch the reservation to BWV any view....to my surprise there was no 2br in any view available......I then checked BCV for my dates and a 2nd dedicated was available so we switched to BCV

Call right at the 7month window and I doubt you'll have a problem, especially for September. We just got a 1BR Std at the BWV for the end of February with no problems. In fact as a previous poster stated I've never had a problem getting the reservations we've wanted at the 7month window for the times we travel.

Sept is not a busy month for DVC - one reason that OKW and SSR can sometimes go to overstock Pop guests.

so would say your chances are great.

especially if you don't care - but who knows you might get a theme park view.

now these views are not like BLT or BCV - you can see Spaceship earth - and some of France - but the other countries - well I have never.

cool. The only change we may make is to do a mid-week to mid-week instead of saturday to saturday but we would arrive earlier and leave earlier so still won't conflict with f&w.

I think that's smart planning avoiding the first weekend of f&w.....I am pretty sure that's why we had no availability at BWV at the 7month mark....I was just really suprised BCV was available

I too have AKV as my home resort. WE are going in Feb 2012 and I was able to cancel 3 AKV value studio rooms for 3 Boardwalk preferred studios. Not same time of year as you are looking at but still I was able to get 3 rooms calling on the exact 7 month mark day.

If you don't get what you want ask to be put on a waitlist. I called first thing in the morning to try and get BWV with no availability. I booked AKV and put on waitlist for BWV or BCV and 2 days ago my waitlist came through. This is the second time I have done this and have been able to get what I wanted.

I wait listed a few weeks ago for my add-on day at BWV in October and it just came through, so anything is possible.

Our home resort is BWV we never have a problem getting what we want at 11mth mark. We usually go during F & W ,but split the stay and go to another DVC resort for 1/2 the stay. This year we are going the begining of Dec and although we never had an issue getting in somewhere else at the 7mth mark this year we can't find anywhere else to go except SSR or AKL we have waitlisted for BLT and WLV, but don't have a good feeling about that coming through. You just never know! In even looked into getting a cabin at the campground to be closer to Magic Kingdom and they are all booked.
