Well, we actually ret'd on Sat but I haven't had a chance to sit down since I got back.
We were 8 adults, ages 21 - 62, in a 2 bedroom villa (4 nights at BWV, 5 nights at VWL).
BWV -
Arrived about noon, used free valet service, check-in was smooth and our room was ready. We even got a Welcome Home!
The carpets were still damp from a recent shampooing. I didn't complain as I was aware of the bedbug rumors and this made me feel secure. Everything was immaculate although I had to call down for lightbulbs as several were burned out in the studio section.
We had a standard view 3rd floor, close to the elevator. We overlooked the driveway with a glimpse of a fountain/pond to the right. Although we faced Epcot, we didn't have an Illuminations view nor could we see any of the parks. The pullout couch in the living room was bent and hard to manipulate.
Overall this was a nice resort, but didn't knock our socks off. I loved the waterslide and proximity to the parks, but not enough to say "wow."
VWL -
Now this is WOW! Everyone agreed they liked this resort much better. We had bell services move our luggage early in the a.m. and headed over to the lodge about 10:00 am. Again, we got a welcome home, but had to wait for our villa until noon. No problem. We went down and signed up for the boat and bike plan and immediately took out a "fleet" of sea racers. Great fun.
Our villa was 2535, a dedicated 2 br rather than the lockoff. We liked this better as it gave more room in the studio. Plus it had 2 beds in the studio rather than the pullout.
By this time we were getting pretty sick of each other, so we went our separate ways most of the rest of the week. My fave was the boats. Several folks hiked around the nature trails over to the campground.
Our only negatives were a leaky air conditioner that soaked the carpet in the studio (fixed quickly), and a midnight delivery of crib sheets and coffee filters that weren't ours....DS was confused and accepted them. I am wondering about the poor people with no crib sheets nor coffee!
Overall we had a wonderful experience. Bell services was phenomenal, transportation was efficient (we used buses the entire time except for our move). Some of the "kids" complained about waiting for a bus but I said - I'm NOT driving and it's MY car!
Any questions?
