I'm still trying to get a grasp on the Skyliner routes and practicality when staying at BWV. Does it make sense to use the Skyliner at Boardwalk to get to other "Parks"? Do you walk to Epcot, take the Skyliner to HS? Or, does that add a large amount of time when you could have used water transportation?

I think it would be fun to ride the Skyliner, but don't want to go far out of the way.

Thanks for the feedback!

All three Skyliner routes terminate at CBR. From BWV, the only theme park you could get to via the Skyliner is DHS and that requires a transfer at CBR. If you were to get on the Skyliner at the IG and had zero stoppages and had no wait during transfer at CBR, the travel time would be about the same as taking the Friendship boat.

How long is the walk from BWV to IG?

Depends on where in BWV you start, since it’ll take time to exit the building. It takes me about 7 minutes at a easy stroll to walk from the boat dock on the BW to the IG. I can usually get there in about the same time as the boat takes if the boat is loading as I walk by.

With current park hours I don't think you could even get to DHS when it opens, because the Epcot line follows Epcot's hours (currently opening at 11, so the Skyliner starts around 10). The line does run early for Riviera guests, but I don't know that they allow anyone to load at the Epcot station before the official opening time.
Skyliner really isn't the most efficient mode of transportation for BW/BC/YC.

FYI, from a lot of places at Boardwalk, particularly the villas in the back, the walk to the skyliner would be as far as the walk to Studios. You may want to just walk to Studios depending where your room is. We stay at Yacht Club. We walk or take the boat to Studios, but sometimes take the skyliner back. We usually are coming back in the early afternoon & we don’t mind the stroll from the skyliner back to YC at that time.

My answer is it doesn't make sense. The only park you could take the skyliner to is HS. You can walk to HS in under 15 minutes. You would have to walk to the IG, get on the skyliner, ride to CBR, get off, get in line for HS. At best iys close to 30 minutes, but you got to ride the skyliner.

Boardwalk is almost right in the middle between IG at Epcot and HS. It’s roughly 12 minutes to either park walking, depending where your room is.
The Friendship boats are fun. We’re staying BW in Sept and planning to walk for rope drop but use the boats otherwise.

Thanks all, I didn't think it made much sense to get around besides the chance to "ride it".

We love to mix it up when we stay at the BW. Walk to HS in the morning, Skyliner back in the afternoon. Next day maybe the Friendship boat. Skyliner is great in the evening if they are doing fireworks and you can happen to be riding nearby for a good view!
