We are planning are first trip home to BWV in April and going again in October. Can you buy an annual pass at BWV? Or, do all disney store locations sell them?

Thanks
Ken

I inquired about this at our local Dis Store, they can do it but it takes about two weeks to receive them.

We bought our AP's direct from Disney over the internet. They send you a voucher which you then redeem at any of the parks' main gate ticket windows.

They do not sell the AP's at the resorts. I don't know about the Disney Store.

You can purchase your annual pass at the International Gateway entrance to Epcot, just a walk away from the resort. DH & I did this just last December. Glad to see the wait at Disney stores was mentioned... no sales tax in NH, so we thought it would be a good savings to buy here (not actually activated until you arrive, at which time the clock starts ticking). We waited, though, due to rumors about additional days having been offered in some locales. So, we were quite dismayed when we went to the Disney store 5 days before our trip, only to learn that the AP must be ordered and are not maintained in the store inventory.

The good news, though, was that it was delightful arriving at BWV, pre-registering at 10:00 a.m., having our first breakfast of the trip at Spoodles, then walking to the Gateway to start our fun.

Enjoy your first trip home!:jester: :D :p

It doesn't matter where you buy your annual pass (or any WDW park tickets) - you always have to pay the FL tax. If you live in a state that has a sales tax, you don't pay that, but you do pay the FL tax. The tax is considered a "use" tax and since the only place you can use the tickets is WDW in FL, you pay the FL tax.

FWIW, the internet option is not set up to accept DC discounts. You can get a DC discount (assuming you are a DC member, of course, LOL) over the phone though. Both internet and phone options charge a $3.00 shipping/mailing fee.

As far as I know, none of the resorts sell the AP or PAP. But as mentioned by Mrs. Snowgod, the International Gateway is just a short walk away and there is seldom a wait at that location.

CarolMN, thank you for that clarification... we had made the assumption that we'd be saving the sales tax, so that is good to know for future reference.

And there was no wait at all at the International Gateway booth when we arrived.

So if I buy those passes now for a December vacation, they will go into effect when I get there?? What do I do with them once I get to WDW??

You will get vouchers that you redeem for the passes at the gates as described above.

The passes become active when they are issued to you at the gate. They expire one year later.

I was going to ask the same question about the PAP. Since we will not be arriving "home" until about 9pm I wanted to get all that "stuff" out of the way before we begin the next day. Do DVC members get the same discount as the DC members or do I have to add yet another membership to my list of things to do?

The ONLY passes where DVC members get a discount are the LOS/UMP and the special 5 Year Pass DVC created. If you want a discount on an AP or any other park hopper you do need to join DC.

ThanksPamOKW. I'll have to get on that!

For four of the next five years, you get 5 days per year of admission to MK, MGM, EPCOT & AK. You have the flexibility to visit all these parks on the same day, plus a choice of 2 other options per year, such as PI, waterparks or WWOS.

Cost of the pass is $749 (adult or child).

Above info is from the Winter 2000 issue of the Vacation Magic.
