Interested in staying @BWV next year and am unsure of when I should start looking to rent points. Would like to stay in a 2 bedroom/standard view for those dates. Point calculator has this at 229 points. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Jean, DVC will only allow reservation 11 months in advance. (That's for one's home resort -- other DVC resorts are seven months in advance.) So, no one can reserve those dates for you until this December.

My suggestion would be to try to line up points sometime late this fall -- to get a standard room, you will need to find someone willing to book day-by-day for you at the 11 month window.

Thank you for the reply. Are most reservations booked on a day-by-day basis, or is this because of the room type/ time of year?

The time of the year you have chosen is very popular with all DVC members because of the individual Resort meetings occuring at the same time. If your choice is the standard view villas, I can almost guarantee that they will be gone by January 5, 2005 Booking your trip day by day will be essential if you are to complete your reservation for the accommodations desired. Under these circumstances, I have encouraged guests to make their point arrangements early by reserving points from a Boardwalk member so that the reservation can be placed on a day by day basis. If I can help with your plans for next year, please let me know. docdds@aol.com

I don't think most reservations have to be done day-by-day, no. But standard view Boardwalk is really hard to get.
