I'm excited to get a one bedroom at Boardwalk 1/30-2/6 and just called to get the DVC reservation number so I can enter it in MDE. The woman I spoke to said we would have a preferred category room. Great! I understand that most of the standard, and the boardwalk views, are booked by members, so it's not too surprising that the confirmation is for a pool/garden view. I'm glad it's not a standard! We hope to have a bit of balcony time :yay:

Does anyone know whether we get the actual unit noted on my RCI confirmation form? The unit number is 14F, but maybe that's just for their records and doesn't mean that's where we're booked.

The DVC resorts are operated more as a hotel and they will assign you to an available room that falls into the booking category.

When you next talk to MS, you can ask to add a location request - perhaps upper floor, overlooking Luna Park (the main feature pool), close to the elevators, etc.

Enjoy your stay!

MS can also assist you with setting up DME (Disney's Magical Express) if you are interested.

You can also purchase one of the Disney Dining Plans (if interested) thru MS.

Best request is upper floor for pool/garden view. The unit number noted on the confirmation appears to be that of the unit in which the transfering owner has an interest. When you buy DVC, you purchase a real estate interest in a "unit" which is usually two or more rooms in the resort. Its only real significance is for legal ownership. Many owners never even stay in their own units and it would be happenstance for them to do so. The reservation system does not use the unit numbers but instead you can be assigned any room in your booking category (yours is pool/garden view), much like reserving a hotel room.

Yes, thanks. A member on the Timeshare User's Group (TUG) site said my 14F meant One Bedroom, sleeps 4, Friday check-in. LOL. Makes sense.
