On the dvc website it states that we can have 5 people in a 1 bedroom, but we have to bring our own linens. With 1 pull-out sofa and 1 king size bed, where does the 5th person sleep?

Also is there a thread dedicated to the BWV? I searched through the 1st 3 pages here and couldn't find one.

For BWV there is a king bed and pull out queen sofa for 1 BR units. The 5 people will have to fit within those confines or on the floor in some way, maybe with an air mattress. Their wording is essentially a way of saying you're on your own.

If you are looking for a 1BR that has bedding for 5, your only options are BLT, AKV and OKW which have a fold out sleeper chair in the living room in addition to the pull out queen couch. The other WDW DVC resorts have bedding for four and if you have a fifth you better bring an air mattress or sleeping bag.

Thanks for the responses.

Can I request a roll-a-way bed for the 5th person?
It's against policy. One person reported being able to get one fairly recently but I believe it was a special circumstance.

Didn't it used to say 4 plus an infant? When did this change if so?

Four plus an infant is still the case for cash reservations made by CRO/DRC.

MS has been allowing 5 of any age in the 1 bedroom villas for quite some time (years, I believe) in all of the DVC WDW resorts, except for the value category at AKV.

As already noted, guests are on their own to provide for the 5th person if he/she cannot use the portable crib for a sleeping space.

I don't know why they word it the way they do. What they mean by "linens" or "bedding" or whatever word they use is that you have to provide everything for that 5th person yourself, a bed as well as the bedding. Some people bring an aerobed or an air mattress and set it up on the floor somewhere.

I am interested in knowing whether 5 guests are allowed on the reservation for a 1BR at BWV, not because we will have 5 at one time, but because during the course of our stay, my mom will be with my DDs and me for a couple of days, and after she leaves, DH will join us. (We live in Florida and he has to work earlier in the week.) Basically, they both will need to be on the reservation in order to book FP+ in advance, no?

Anyone had any experience with this?

Yes, as long as it is a points reservation.

Are you planning to use the dining plan? You would have to pay for 5 for the entire time.

Thanks! It's actually a reservation through RCI, which I believe works more like points than cash. We aren't purchasing the dining plan.

They are more strict for an exchange, you should call member services and ask.

When we traded through RCI there was no problem putting 5 on the reservation.
I know of a number that haven't had any issues and a couple who have.

We just did this at BCV b/c they didn't have a 2bd in Oct when we were there, and we were out of points for one anyway.
Dds are 10, 8 and 5. Two slept on the pull out and one on the cushions on the floor. Never again. It was easier when they were smaller but it wasn't happening this time. So much easier to book at BLT or AKV if we do a 1bd or move up to a 2bd at the other resorts. Plus the extra bath at AKV and BLT is a huge plus.

I talked to MS and there was no problem putting 5 on the reservation. I was reminded that there would only be bedding for 4.
