Alright so here is the questions, For those who have stayed at both.
1. What one did you like best?
2. What are the reasons?
3. How is the wifi at BWPPPI?
4. Were the beds hard when you stayed at BWPPPI?

Where would you chose?
Desert inn has two tv's, and queen beds. For 7 nights and 150 bucks cheaper (Parlor suit a.) / BWPPPI has full size beds, 1 tv, for 6 nights its about 150 more.

In all honestly my son doesn't need the extra tv but it might be nice.

I know the beds at desert inn last time were some what hard and the breakfast did get old after a few days. We do have three days we will have breakfast else where already planed.

We keep going back and forth with the bigger room and bigger beds at desert inn, but when I called this morning I got a hold of some one who was really rude and I had to call back to talk to a manger who was able to help me. He helped and was nice but the rude guy this morning just some what leaves a sour taste in my mouth. So we are still checking and the best place to get our thoughts out and answered is Dis boards.

I am not sure if I could or should splurge and pay for the queen rooms at BWPPPI or not. If I could for a fact that would be hands down. For now I just need others opinions of good or bad reviews or thoughts for both places.

I would like to know this as well. I haven't stayed at either and am trying to decide between them because of their closeness to the parks. I'm kind of leaning towards Best Western Plus Park Place Inn and Mini-Suites, the Queen beds room.

We have continued talking and my son is willing to sleep on a couch bed so we may even move to BWPPPI with a king size bed and sofa bed.

We haven't stayed at BWPPI for a year or so but I LOVED the beds, VERY comfortable! We did the King bed with pull out couch and the kids slept just fine on it! And I liked being able to fold it up and have more room for them to play while in the room. My only complaint with our room was that the AC really couldn't remove the humidity at all and being from AZ we are not used to it! But overall loved the hotel! The walking distance is so nice, being able to just hop back to your room as needed!

wow thank you Keky4. I will remember about the AC, was your trip during summer or inter? We are going at Christmas time. Its my favorite time to go. I know I hate the heat here in the summer time were in AZ too.
My son thinks he will want to sleep on it just as it is but I told him we can pull it out if he wants that. He said alright we will see when we get there. I liked desert inn for the most part last year but I kinda wanted to try something a little nicer. Since this trip is kinda taking the place of the wdw one I wanted to do this year but I've been talked in to waiting another year and saving up for it to be done right.

I can't get the dlh but BWPPPI seems a close second in my price range.
I know they are remodeling the rooms and things this year. I am wondering what will be done and if it were new beds I hope they would still be soft as I have heard they can be. That was one of the only problems I had with desert inn once in the room. The beds were so hard.
Out side the room Check in was a nightmare. That's why were paying for a day more at both hotels so when we get in early we don't have to kill 7 hours. Then the rude guy the other morning and a few more reviews talking about the rude guest services at desert inn from just a few days ago. I just think to be safe and have a good trip this time BWPPPI is the way to go.

So online I found out that BWPPPI was cheaper than Getawaytoday . So I am getting my tickets and chr meals with getawaytoday but I will cancel my hotel with them when they are open.

I booked for 125 a night ( with the best western reward membership) the king size rooms.

I also did get questions answered
The rooms over the lobby are all two full beds, no king and no queens.
Queens are around the pools
all Kings are on the ground floor.
kings and Full beds rooms are all 360 sq feet
Queen bed suit is 400 square feet.

I have stayed at both the Dessert Inn and BWPPI.

I like BWPPI over Dessert Inn in my opinion. Both hotels are great but you cant beat BWPPI location where the Dessert Inn is not that too far from BWPPI. BWPPI has everything I need when staying right across the street from the DLR. The thing I like about BWPPI is that it is close to the crosswalk and continental breakfast. Don't eat at Captain Kidd's restaurant which is where the continental breakfast location is on the upper level. I have not heard great reviews about that place. The only thing I don't like at BWPPI is the parking which can be crowded, if your room is close to the pool and you are taking a break, you can hear the noise from the pool area. If you are thinking of going swimming, the pool is small. For the Dessert Inn, it has a good variety of different types or rooms to choose when staying, indoor pool, and the wifi is good. I don't like about the Dessert Inn is that the parking can be very tight, also an underground parking lot where you park your car if you can't find anything on the ground floor, The rooms in the back can be a long walk, multi-floor building where it can take a while for the elevator to come & the continental breakfast was not that impressive. If I had the choice, it would be BWPPI over the Dessert Inn.

The wifi at BWPPI is okay. You will be able to get on the internet with no problem from your laptop, phone, tablet, etc. It won't be super fast like the DLR wifi but it should be no problem.

The beds at BWPPI are not that bad. There were times where it did felt hard but mostly they are about average. They should be no problem.

Is there some place else to enjoy the continental breakfast at BWPPI? You said you like the breakfast, but said not to eat at Captain Kidd's. We will be there Thursday- Tuesday and will be eating breakfast before hitting the park.

I am sure MVF meant don't eat there for lunch or dinner. The breakfast is different but in the same building. I have already heard to mny bad things about captain kidds and will not eat there except the breakfast.
From what I heard the breakfast is brought in by Best western not captain kidd.

Captain Kidd's is not associated with the BWPPI daily breakfast. BWPPI provides the food and uses the second floor above Captain Kidd's for the daily breakfast. If you don't want to eat upstairs you can bring the food back to your room.

Just as Jade and figment said that the continental breakfast is on the second level of Captain Kidd's restaurant and is all provided by BWPPI. The breakfast at BWPPI on the second level of Captain Kidd's is not that special but I think it is better than the Dessert Inn continental breakfast. I have never eaten at Captain Kidd's since I read many bad reviews about it.

So glad you mentioned this! We just canceled and rescheduled with the reward member rate! I didn't even know that existed! So we added a day and are only spending $100 more! Thank you!

Our last stay at BWPPI was in May 2013, the weather outside was fine and the room was cool but wet cool. The first AC we got was not working well at all and the maintenance guy came and just totally replaced the unit for us. The second was better but it was definitely humid in there! We were glad to get back to our dry air!

Your welcome. I was so happy when i called and got told I could get that rate. It made my choice easy. Also I did hear they are redoing the rooms this year a bit I am not sure what will be done but passing on what I heard. I'm only paying 150 more than I would have at desert inn.
