BWPPI, Carousel or Ramada?

We are planning a four-night trip to DLR in mid-October. It will be my 2.5-year old DD's first trip, and my husband's first trip since childhood.

We are looking for a clean, comfortable place within easy walking distance of the parks. My husband's definition of "easy walking distance" is MUCH shorter than mine, and therefore we are looking to stay as close as possible with an offsite hotel.

We are considering the BWPPI, the Carousel Inn and the Ramada Maingate. We prefer queen or king beds, and want rooms with fridges and a microwave, and these hotels seem the best fit for us.

The rates at the BWPPI and the Carousel are within $5 a night of each other; the Ramada is considerably less expensive (about $25 a night). Are the other two hotels nicer or closer enough to warrant spending the extra $100?

We'd love your opinion to help make our first DLR trip as a family as magical as possible! Thanks in advance!

We stayed at the Carousel a couple of years ago with my then 3yr old son, and I would definitely recommend it! It was very clean, beds were very comfy! And I even walked back for a nap with my son in the afternoon-very close to main disney entrance.

I haven't stayed at any of them, but BWPPI is definitely the closest. It is basically right at the crosswalk.

I have not stayed at Carousel, but will be the end of October. We stayed at BBPPI many years ago, it was okay. We have not stayed there since, but it was 6 years ago so I cannot say much on their current state. :)
According to the map, Ramada Maingate is the farthest.

You can check google maps to see how close they are. :surfweb:

I like to use to on occasion just to see the area since I miss it between our yearly trips.

We stayed 10 nights at BWPPI last year and had no complaints. You can't beat the walk!

We've stayed 2x at BWPPI, 2 years ago and than maybe 8 years before that. Both times we had no complaints, loved the location, rooms were clean and we were comfortable (and I'm kinda a germ freak). We only tried the free breakfast 1x on our first visit and didn't go back, it was just ok. Never tried the pool. It's really fast to go back and forth. Never stayed at the other too, I've been looking at Ramada lately, gets good review and the price in incredible, but I can't figure out how much farter it truly is down from the BWPPI.

If you are a costco member, you can book your BWPPI visit through the website and get a discount of about $10 or so per night.

We are currently at the Ramada Maingate, and while it is true that the Maingate is the "farthest" of the three from the crosswalk, it's basically about 75 seconds farther. (Edited from 60 seconds - I rechecked it this morning when I was walking to McDonalds for a morning non-fat latte.)

We haven't been to DL yet (spent today at the Griffith Park Observatory, Santa Monica and Hollywood) but on my walk this morning, it was under 2 minutes from the Ramada to the crosswalk. So I'm guessing that while the PPI is exactly across the street from Disney, the Carousel is about 60 seconds one way (toward the freeway) and the Ramada is about 75 seconds the other way (towards Katella).
