BWPPI Alternatives?

I am considering a trip over Canadian Thanksgiving weekend (i.e., October 5-11), and my usual go to hotel - the BWPPI - is booked. I will check for cancellations naturally, but I was wondering about alternatives people would suggest. Components that are important to me are the breakfast and the proximity. I'm not a 'hotel snob', but don't like bed bugs either.... I know, I know - what a diva!!

Park Vue is available but a little high (Avg. $202/night). Grand Legacy (formerly Ramada Maingate) is $138 2 doubles/$147 2 queen (+$12 parking), which is better, but I'm not familiar with it. Any suggestions would be appreciated - TIA!

For proximity we like the Tropicana or the Carousel. Carousel is usually a little pricier but had a reasonable continental breakfast. We don't usually do breakfast at the hotel.

Tropicana is great, and almost as close as you could possibly get. They have stopped offering breakfast there, though.

Looks like it's $134 a night for those dates.

For the price difference I would pick Grand Legacy. I stayed there in April and had no complaints. Their breakfast is a little sparser than Park Vue-but ok for the $50 savings, and only a few more steps down the street.

I suggest youpull up a Google image of Harbor street and see where these hotels are so you know the walking distance.
Also, the Park View Inn is just as close as BWPPI and the Fairfield inn is only another minute or two away. Just about any other hotel on Harbor will be at the most, another 5 minutes or so away form the gates.

Just a few more steps down Harbor, the Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn. They have a full hot breakfast.

We just stayed for the first time Saturday night and were super pleased with the breakfast. The rooms themselves are older but the staff was top notch and the GM emailed me (after I completed their post-stay survey) to let me know they're scheduled to start room remodels next year.

It was great to eat outside on the breakfast deck overlooking Harbor Blvd!

Did you call Park Vue? Their rates are lower if you call and ask for the best rate.

Really? That's definitely worth looking into. I would like to stay there, but the cost was almost $250 more than the Best Western for 3 nights...

I've had a fair amount of a price break for calling. It's opposite of most places, that have their "best price" online. And once you stay your first time, you can call and get a bigger break with their returning-guest rate (that's saved me something like $40/night over the online price on at least one trip).
