BWI View Clarification???

I have asked this question a couple times, but received conflicting answers. So unless I can receive straightforward answers from this thread, I guess I'll just have to call the resort directly.

My question is this: if you book a water view room at the Boardwalk Inn, are you guaranteed a view of Crescent Lake/the Boardwalk? Or is it possible to receive a view of a pool/canal/etc?

For those of you who have stayed in both, do you believe that the WV rooms are worth the extra nightly cost?

If anyone has pictures of their water views, that would be much appreciated too :wizard:

Thanks!

From allearsnet:

What are the differences between the room views?

The Standard View category can either overlook the manicured grounds near the entrance of the resort, with the parking lot beyond that; or they can overlook beautiful gardens and walkways and quiet pool. These Standard Views seem to be the most private since they are closed off from the Boardwalk and the parking areas.

The Water View room category overlook Crescent Lake and the Boardwalk, and tend to be more lively in the evening hours. These Water View rooms are sometimes referred to as Preferred Views. A Variable View is usually used in conjunction with discounted rooms and means you won't have a guaranteed view because of the discount.

Hi mariamouse,

To overlook the main pool or canal you would have to be on the Villas side of the resort. Three times we have had a waterview room at the Inn (4th and 5th floors) and each time we have overlooked Cresent Lake and the Boardwalk. Have a great trip!! We know it is quite a bit more $$, so be sure you request a room with a balcony - all these rooms do not have one.

Thank you!! I am really glad to hear this.

It looks like the BWI WV will be the choice for our next trip! :goodvibes

I think our standard view room view was just as nice, if not nicer, than our lagoon view. Our standard room had a view like this

http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/bwi3.jpg

It was over looking a quiet courtyard.

Our water view room was not directly on Crescent Lake but overlooking the courtyard that opens up on Crescent Lake (imagine a "U" where the open end is the boardwalk and our room was on one of the arms of the "U"). You could see the water if you looked over to your right but if you were looking straight ahead you would see other rooms with a gift shop down below. It was still nice but not, IMO, worth the extra $$.

Hi, I called WDW because my family is going to stay there week of Aug.7, and I also booked a waterview room. I was told a waterview room overlooks the boardwalk, Crescent Lake, and you have a balconly. But, I also requested the above just in case.

We just came back from the BWI and had a standard room with a balcony. It overlooked a quiet courtyard where the BWV are located. The best thing was watching the fireworks from Illuminations from our room. It was awesome to watch without having to be at Epcot. The room was nice and quiet. Let me add that we stayed in a room years ago overlooking the boardwalk and it gets really noisey late at night. You may want to consider this if anyone is a light sleeper.
