BWI standard view recommendations

hi,

We will be going back to our favorite resort, The Boardwalk Inn, on our next trip! We have only had water views in the past but this time we elected to go a day longer with a standard view. We would like to be close to the Boardwalk, specifically the friendship boat launch and would like a view of the courtyard. Does anyone know of specific rooms that fit this criteria that I could use for my request? I will send in the special request a few days before my stay and remind the cast member at check in that we would be willing to wait for a room in that area to open up if need be. I'd much rather be held out of the room for a couple of hours than take a room I would be unhappy with.

Thanks,
Dan

Thanks Aggie, that is a very nice view in my opinion and being close to the elevator would be great as well.
I am actually considering requesting this room for our stay again this year. At the time we were there last year, we had no idea how lucky we were to be so close to the elevator. After reading other people's reviews of the winding hallways, I think we hit BWI gold!

Have a great trip!

Requesting a specific room number is not recommended. It is likely to be occupied on your checkin day and the room assigner has no idea what attracted you to this room to try and find another room that will make you happy.

Thanks I was pretty sure that was the case however when I have called in the past if I have specific areas and landmarks or even compass locations they have always gotten me in the vicinity of where I wanted.

Requesting a specific landmark or compass location is very different than requesting a specific room

Obviously , I was looking for a room number because i have a site that shows every rooms view so having a room number allows me to guide my request by helpful opinions from guests that have stayed there.

Request courtyard view. The ones facing the front driveway are noisy.
Debbie .... Thanks to both you and Aggie. Your posts were very helpful and much appreciated. Have a very Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous New Year.

Here is a post on the standard room we stayed in last year Disney's BOARDWALK INN and VILLAS Information and Questions Thread.

We kind of liked this room, but being directly next to the front of the resort would probably bother some.

This is a GREAT view for "standard" - I have a standard view booked and I know at the BWI there are a lot of "standard" views from what I've been told anyway - I'm trying to understand though, how you can see the front of the hotel and the Yacht Club from this room - isn't the Yacht Club/Boardwalk in the back of the resort? I'm not good with this so I can't wrap my head around the direction in this case. That view looks like a water view to me - I'm thinking of requesting a courtyard view too. Water view wasn't an option this time around.

Ok how about room 2290 or 2282. Closest rooms to the elevator / stairs down to the Boardwalk and the Friendship launches. While not the quietest as they are very near the elevators and at the start of long hallways that might have lots of Guest traffic passing your room.

On a serious note: it would help if you share with us if you want a 1st floor with a patio or you are more interested in a higher floor with a better standard view due to foliage near the building.

That's the $64k question. My Wife wants the third floor or higher, but when I was looking at the courtyard facing rooms I kind of would like the first floor with the patio. It looks nicer to me. When it gets down to it I want a 5-7 walk to the bakery if possible. Our last 2 stays there spoiled us, 3rd floor dead center Boardwalk .... Room just above the Cat Cora sign both trips.

Thanks for the tip!

Just an FYI, if you're using Touring Plans for this it is extremely inaccurate. It may get a couple right, but as a whole it's not good.
