So we are booked for one night.. myself, hubby and 3 of our kids ( 10,7,8) ..this is a resort only day/night. We have 10 nights at POFQ with 7 of us total ( with 10 days in the parks). I need the low down on what to check out, do etc while having our down day at BWI.We will arrive by 8am and We have dinner ressies at Kouzzina at 6:45 that night.. we will leave to check to at POFQ by 7am the next day.

So what should I know??

Well I guess just the pool and arcade for the kids, drinks at the pool, walk around the boardwalk and since you're right there, why not walk in and out of the other resorts on the boardwalk to check them out. Cupcakes at the bakery. Not sure if you have boys into sports, but an ESPN lunch (no res. taken) is right there.

And by the way, Hey Neighbor, another shout out for Western Mass. here!:thumbsup2

Yeah the pool is a big draw.. someone had mentioned seeing Illuminations from there?

You can see some of the high fireworks from Illuminations if you have a courtyard view facing the right way or walk out over to the bridge where the boats go under.

If you have standard view booked, request a courtyard view facing Epcot. What you want to avoid is rooms facing the front driveway, they are noisy.

Keep in mind you may not get into your room until 3:00pm.

If you and your husband are able to make childcare arrangements, maybe go check out Jellyrolls. I went with my Sister in law and we loved it! It's a fun piano bar (21+ only).

Oh I know we may not get our room til later but I can check in, get our keys
and use the pools ..been there done that at other resorts :)

If you head over the bridge between BW and Epcot, you can see some of the high fireworks from Illuminations. We did this in March, here's what it looks like.

Cape May Clambake over at Beach Club was a really yummy dinner.

Wow Missyrose - What a beautiful picture!

Agreed! :thumbsup2 Do you mind my asking what camera you use? I am in the market for a new one..

I was just about to ask the same thing!

Thank you all! I wish I could take credit, but the credit all goes to my DBF. He is a true artist with the camera. :worship: And speaking of cameras, here's the camera and lens combo he used for that photo:
Nikon D7000 with a 16-85mm lens and a 3 stop ND filter.

Hope this helps! :goodvibes

A great tip from here that we used, is that if you are leaving early the next morning, you can go to the Boardwalk Bakery and get some breakfast items like muffins, pastries, etc. the night before you are leaving. Keep them wrapped and they will be fine for the next morning. You can get bottled juices, etc to keep in the frig. as well. Have someone run to the Bellevue lounge for coffee while you are getting up and ready to go and enjoy your breakfast while you are eating and packing up to leave.

Our new found favorite is the Mickey head-shaped banana chocolate chip muffins.

The Boardwalk area also has the surrey bikes to rent which is fun at night, ice cream, etc. There is no lack of fun things to do at the BWI, especially in just one day/night. Enjoy! Have fun!
