SW is having a sale and I can get half my rewards points back if I change my November flight, but the new flight (MCO-BWI) only has a 50 minute layover to change planes in Baltimore. What do you think? Would I be pushing it?

BWI isn't overly large. You could take a look at the flight numbers and look at their history of being on time. Also they'll typically use the same terminal gate area so you can get an idea of historical information.

Flightaware.com is good for this imo

That’s a ton of time between sw flights. You and your luggage will be fine.

Due to the unique boarding of SW flights, their gates are all clustered together in airports so normally quite close for changing gates.

BWI is our home airport and I’d say that is plenty of time. It’s a rather small airport so even if your gates aren’t close together, you should be good to make your connection.

Is it the last flight of the day from BWI-PVD? That one is frequently delayed anyways.

Soutjwest has gates in terminals A , B and C. We had to walk from end of gare A to end of gate C for our connection. It was a haul for my husband who has a bad back.

50 minutes should be OK. Always a good idea to look at gate maps BEFORE you leave home so you have a general idea of the airport layout. Saves time when connecting to another flight if you already know where you are going. Sometimes connecting gates are quite close together, but not always. You can also look online to see where that same flight departed from in the last few days but that is still no guarantee it will be the same gate. Check the TV monitors when you exit to make sure the gate hasn't changed and that you are heading to correct gate for your next departure.

The walk I had last August for a Southwest connection seemed so long, which was a first for me at BWI. Other times I have connected there, we didn't have to move at all. This past time it was very crowded so it wasn't like you could walk very fast. Still made it in time. I think the layover was about an hour.

Making the connection is very doable. Luggage no issue. Look at Tinks map. Passengers have to a longer journey.

Make it in time to preboard?
Naybe not. Make it in time for A group boarding? Probably.

Will sitting in the last few rows, taking an extra 10 minutes to deplane gave an impact? Maybe. Consider paying for upgraded boarding, if necessary

I would be more concerned about getting out of MCO on time. Earlier in the day would probably be better, we have been delayed by afternoon thunderstorms at MCO several times. SW does build in extra time, but you never know.

MHT-BWI-MCO and reverse is our worst nightmare. During covid when there were not many direct flights we ended going through BWI. Nearly each time, there was a delay of some type. I would not do it personally, but my tolerance level is really low during travel day LOL.
