BWI for conference

I'm attending a conference at BWI in last of July/beginning of August. Have only stayed there once before in a studio. My room will be paid for by my agency. What are the chances of being upgraded to CL? If I wanted to pay for an upgrade, what would the cost be and is it even possible since I won't be the person paying for the room? This will be an adult only trip and I'll be there for 4 nights so any suggestions for things to do anywhere on property would be greatly appreciated....I'm used to traveling down with my kids (and feel slightly guilty to be going with them).

Well the cost would depend on whether they charge you the difference in rack rate and rack rate for CL.

Or if they charged you the difference in convention rate and rack rate for CL, which if they did would be a large amount.

BWI typically doesn't do few upgrades, save for overbooking. If you'd like to pay, you'd do as PP said and pay the difference to rack rate. Depending on the conference's billing, you may need permission from your group leader to upgrade (sometimes they want the whole block to stay in one section). They'll make it all clear at check-in and have the appropriate contact info if you need it.
