Disney moved us from AKL Club during first of August to BWI Club. Well my wife has thrown a fit about it. I called Disney back and they have offered Poly Club with Lagoon View. Should I move??

aloha!!!

Having not stayed at the BWI I am unable to give you my opinion on this resort, HOWEVER, I have visited and there seemed to be plenty going on and full of action.

I have stayed at the Poly Club Lagoon View and the view is spectacular.

The Poly resort itself is great fun, plenty to do,great location for MK and Epcot and Trans Centre.

There is a large window situated within the poly conceirge building which provides excellent viewing for the Wishes fireworks every night. Also you will have a fabulous view from you lagoon view balcony,

I would suggest however that you ask for a room on the 2nd floor or above if possible to take full advantage of the view.

Food- A good choice of food was laid out for us when we visited in May 06, with drinks being available throughout the day.

I hope this has been of some help
And ask more questions if you wish and I will be ready to answer :cool1:

I have stayed at both and much prefer the BWI. You are walking disntance from both Epcot and MGM. Although MGM is a bit of a walk. We usually take the boat. The concierge CM's are wonderful at BWI. They are nice at Poly as well, but there desks are located on the first floor and the food offerings are on the 2nd. I like it all together. The view from the Poly is beautiful and it is on the monorail. I just like the Boardwalk for its service and atmosphere. It depends on what you like. If you did chose the BWI, request a Boardwalk view. As for the Poly, most 2nd floor rooms do not have a balcony. The Hawaii building's 2nd floor does not, so you would want 3rd floor. I don't know about the other concierge building. The first time I booked at the Poly I didn't know that the 2nd floor didn't have balconies, it is just window. Of course we ended up with a 2nd floor room The last time I booked I requested 3rd floor and got a balcony.

I actually couldn't decide between BWI and the Poly ... so we're going to do a few days at both.

I love the Poly, but BWI offers great ease of getting to Epcot, particularly WS for dinner, boats to MGM, evening entertainment, and fun restuarants. I don't know what type of room you'd have, but we're staying in a deluxe concierge room at BWI because I liked the idea of extra space and a guarranteed boardwalk view. That's also a consideration.

At the end of the day, though, lagoon view at Poly is pretty amazing.

I think either way, you'll have an amazing time.

Tough call...we LOVE both.

Ask yourself this...do you want ease of mobility at your own pace to 2 parks...then your choice is easy...BWI CL! (MGM & EPCOT)

Do you want good transportaion to 2 parks...monorail or boat to MK and walk to TTC to monorail to EPCOT...your choice is POLY LV CL!

I love both CL's but prefer the BWI Innkeepers Club! Their staff and IPO are really tough to beat anywhere!

There's my 2 cents worth!:thumbsup2

Definitely!

Even though Epcot is our favorite park. The Poly is one of our favorite resorts.
There is a reason that more people return to the Poly than ANY other Disney resort.

There is nothing like a monorail resort.

I would, too. Boardwalk club level - IMO! - sucks. I think AKL is much, much, much - oh, so much! - better than the Boardwalk.

If they walked me to the Poly, I'd be OK with that. But no WAY I'd let them walk me to the Boardwalk.

We love the BWI--the club level rocks!:thumbsup2 The staff is wonderful! I think you would be happy there. We have not tried the Poly because every time we think about doing a split stay to try the Poly we can't seem to give up any days at the BWI--go figure!:) Whatever you decide have fun!

We too love the BWI and the Club level. The castmembers are awesome. The view is spectacular. There is always something to see and do. You can walk to MGM and EPCOT, or take the boat. Nightly entertainment on the Boardwalk.:cool1:

The BWI CL is terrific. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this option. have a great trip!

Since your wife threw a fit over the BWI, would she rather stay at the Polynesian? If yes, then of course take it! :sunny:

P.S. Show her the pictures on my web site from our 3 different stays at the Polynesian in a concierge lagoon view room. We're going back for the fourth time in 2 weeks :thumbsup2 The link to my site is below. :)

We've stayed at both and prefer BWI. The staff at BW blows Polynesian away.

But if DW wants Polynesian, what are you gonna do! :confused3 My concern is the balcony issue. The view is incredible, but I would be very disappointed if I had a 2nd floor room.

I, personally would take BWI, have them note in the reservation about the AKL situation and request(confirm) a BW view. BW views are based on availability, but given the situation they may block it out for you.

Both resorts are lovely and you can't go wrong. Good luck!

We LOVED Poly Lagoon View Club. Absolutely amazing view of Cinderella's Castle..we could sit on our balcony and hear the train whistle from the Magic Kingdom or watch the fireworks. It was the BEST room we have ever had. We would definitely choose that!

We've stayed at both, and, while the BWI staff is excellent, there is just something about being greeted so warmly & informally at the Poly that really appeals to me. I think it really boils down to atmosphere. If you were staying at AKL, it seems like transportation isn't probably a big priority for you. So what atmosphere do you (or your wife) like better? Look at photos from both resorts. If you don't care for the pictures of one of them, you probably won't be happy there. We didn't like photos of the WL rooms, but wanted to stay there just to try it out. Guess what? We were unhappy, because we didn't care for the room decor! For me, the atmosphere is about 75% of whether I'm happy at the resort or not.

Cheers!

Done both- Definitely Poly Lagoon View Concierge!!!! Let me back up a bit. Have you ever visited the Polynesian before? Some people are put off by the decor of the resort. It sort of reminded me of the Brady Bunch episode when they went to Hawaii the first time I was there. However, the Polynesian is authentic South Pacific decor. We are DVC owners and still pay to stay Polynesian Concierge. Depending on our budget it is either garden view or lagoon view. The concierge services are in the Hawaii building which is centrally located and right next to the pool. Very, very convenient. The offerings in the lounge are great. The lounge is huge with a big window facing the castle. Chef Dick is the best. The rooms were just recently updated and they have flat panel TVs now. The rooms are noticeably bigger than the BWI. The Polynesian is more relaxing and laid back than the BWI. The BWI has the advantage of location to EPCOT and MGM but I am assuming that was not a big issue for you since you were staying at AKL originally. The Polynesian has a great location for easy access to the MK and just a short 5 minute walk to the TTC to catch the monorail to EPCOT. We just stayed at the BWV this past April and DH said it will be our lost stay there. For an EPCOT resort, he prefers the BC or BCV. I know it is hard to adjust your thinking to another resort when you have been planning for another resort but the Polynesian LVC is a great upgrade in my opinion. Good luck in your choice..

I think the POLY LVC view is the best. It is so magical and relaxing. My kids loved watching the fireworks from the room and the electrical water parade. I like the Epcot area too, but if the price was the same I would go with the PLVC as I think the view is just amazing. Good luck!!:)
