BWI: but not the clown

I have stayed at BWV more times than I can remember. Never once has the clown bothered me, and I don't love clowns. My boys loved the waterslide so much that the clown attached to it was a nonissue.

That clown face is attached to THE best slide on property.

So darned true!

My boys loved the waterslide so much that the clown attached to it was a nonissue.

Yep!

I'm the phobic one in the family, and I *love* that slide and don't care about the clown (not even at night). Along with it being terrific fun, something we did mentally to get over it was to feel sorry for the clown, since every 30 seconds he had someone's rear exiting his mouth LOL.

If you are staying at the BWInn and not the BWVillas, you can totally avoid the clown pool. Just use the leisure pool on the Inn side of the building.
Yep. Dh and I stayed at BWI in January for 5 nights and I didn't see the clown face once. Since we didn't have kids with us, we just went to the quiet pool which was right outside our room.
Neither of us is even disturbed by clowns--so we weren't intentionally avoiding it.

I agree that the quiet pool on the Inn side is very nice, if you don't need a slide. If your kids want a slide, but you don't like the clown, stake out your chairs on the clown side of the pool, so you are looking away from it. I usually have so much water in my eyes swimming that I don't really notice it in the water, and if you are facing away from it while out of the water, you may be able to tolerate the feature pool.

I feel you, I do not like clowns. However, we stayed there last visit and that side is REALLY cool!! It was worth it and we got over the clown pretty quickly.
The slide comes right out of his mouth so that is neat.

Hate clowns, love the clown pool! IMHO, it's one of the better designed pool spaces at WDW (if it only had zero entry!). I love that I can sit on the pool deck, go to the pool bar to get drinks and snacks and still have my eyes on DS where ever he is including waiting to go down the slide. And the bathroom is close by, too! (hate the walk to the bathroom at SAB) And yeah, that slide is fun! Honestly, the clown face sort of fades into the background after a while. If you are focusing on swimming, sliding, playing with your kids, etc. the clown isn't really in focus anymore, IMHO.

Yup....BWI is one of the few resorts that we haven't stayed at yet, and we'd like to stay at them all. I just don't know if I'm going to get past the clown. And it spits children out like it just ate them. {shudder}

One year we splurged and stayed in a BWV 1 bedroom suite that looked out towards the clown. I spent a couple of afternoons relaxing on the balcony watching kids spit out of the clown's mouth. They looked like they were having a lot of fun.

Though I can see how it might be disturbing to some.

I don't have clown issues and it's too much for me. We love the resort, we just don't use the pool. Problem solved. Going to the pool isn't required, thankfully

We haven't stayed at BWI, but I have seen this mentioned before. I'm probably in the minority, but I think it's kind of cool as it's different ;).

Love the Clown:clown:

We haven't stayed at BWI so haven't actually experienced the pool, but we have seen it and from what I've seen, I do like it :).

I don't mind the clown, but I do LOVE the carousel bar there (Leaping Horse?). It is really pretty. This pool area does seem small because of that big ol' clown, but we aren't real swimmers - just poolside relaxers!
