BWV studios and 2BRs (which fill with studio reservations because all are lock-offs), tend to fill almost year round for any given start date within moments after 8 a.m. eastern at 11 months out, or often even before. Winners are those whose computers communicate faster with Disney's than others trying to reserve right at 8 a.m. Many lose the battle.
Prior to 2016, August time was still a time you could possibly get the standard view studio as long as you made the attempt at 8 a.m., 11 months out, but then DVD made a change during the 2016 refurb that increased standard studio demand for the summer months (and year round) -- it redid the studios to have a less-than-twin-size Murphy bed that pulled out of a cabinet and thus allowed members to book 5 in the studio (plus a child under 3) rather than the previous 4 (plus a child under 3). Within a year after that change, those studios completed an evolution to having a year round 11-month reservation issue.
Particularly for Aug time, one possibility, if you find it full at 11-months out, is to keep checking for several days when something may open due to walkers passing by, most of whom are not trying to walk to August time, only through it. You might yourself attempt a walk by booking an earlier reservation and then walking it to the one you want. The problem with that at BWV is that even starting a walk is difficult because the studios typically fill almost instantly at 11-months put year round. Thus finding a time to begin a walk is itself difficult. Nevertheless, a time to look for a walking start date to walk into Aug time would be 11-months out for time from July 7 to July 31, one of lowest
DVC demand times of the year at WDW.
Asked above is whether the BWV GVs have the same 11-month problem as the standard studios and 2BRs. GVs have filled right at 8 a.m. at 11-months for times during the high demand fall season, but rarely other times of the year
