BW or Grand Floridian?

Good evening! I have a one bedroom booked for August at the Boardwalk for me, DH, DS (7) & DD(5). I was just playing around on the the dvc website and it looks like a deluxe studio is available at the Grand! I've never stayed there before but it looks so beautiful! Do I switch? How's the pool at GF? I do like having a one bedroom but is staying at GF worth giving up the one bedroom?

For us it would be. We like the boardwalk but the Grand Floridian is #1 for us.

The big question is what parks will you be doing? If both EP and HS, I’d stick with BW. It’s nice to walk back to take a break from the parks. Plus one bedroom is better as well. Although now that GF has walking path, that’s a plus there too.

I suspect that what was available was a resort studio in the BPK building that are opening 6/20, rather than one of the deluxe studios in the original VGF building. The resort studios have 2 queen size beds and a sleeper sofa. A beverage cooler rather than a frig. & no microwave. I love the GF & am staying in one of the ‘new’ resort studios this Nov., I’ve stayed in a BWV 1 br. & w/ 4 people I’d probably stay put for the extra space, full kitchen, & in villa washer/dryer. W/ kids the age of yours I assume both MK & Toy Story land will be big draws - so sort of a draw in terms of which park it’s best to be close to. GF does have a great kids play/splash area.

For us, the kitchen and in-room laundry would keep us in the 1BR. If those are unimportant to you, the VGF studios are gorgeous, and the dining options at GF are better than at BWV.

Totally depends on which parks you're visiting more and if you value the space at the 1 bedroom. The studios at VGF are nice but they're no where near the size of a one bedroom. The pool at the GF is very nice but for a family of 4, I'd pick a 1 bed over a studio especially if you're visiting Ep/DHS. I would only vote for the studio if you'll be at MK more than any other park. We're a family of 4 and while a studio isn't ideal, we do make it work but if a one bedroom is the same price, I'm picking that all day long over a studio.
