Need some advice.

I have resies for the BW for Aug 3 thru Aug 18 but then I started thinking that perhaps we should split our stay and head down to Vero Beach for about 5 days. We could do BW from 8-3 thru 8/10, rent a car and drive down to Vero. We could then stay at VB from 8/10 thru 8/14 drive back to Disney World and finish up our stay at BW from 8/14 thru 8/18.

In the past when we stayed at Disney we didn't rent a car. We prefer to take Disney transportation. We used ME to get us to and from the airport and were quite happy with Disney buses. The only reason I would rent a car is for our use at Vero Beach.

It is three adults-no kids. my mom, my brother and myself.

What's the temperature like at Vero during the second week of August? The CM on the phone said that it would be cold due to the ocean breezes. :confused3 Would we be able to swim in the ocean?

Anyway, what could we do there? Do you think we would enjoy it? Is it busy during this time of year? Would love to hear from some of you who have been there during August.

Sounds like a good trip, go for it.

I would do exactly what you're thinking.
Let me tell ya - You are from PA?....VB "breezes" will not be "cold" anytime in August by your standards. Ocean water temps in August ? - put it this way...if you can't take the ocean in AUGUST in FLORIDA...you should stick to a hot tub!! ;) VB is a wonderfull place if you enjoy a beach break! :)

:lmao: OMG cold breezes! That is a funny one. Try High 80's and humid everyday with a pleasant breezes to combat the heat and humidity. VB is simply beautiful in August. You get hot, you go in the pool or ocean to cool off!

We have done the BWV/VB 2 week split stay the last 4 years (this will be our 5th) and August is awesome. We have done the VB 1st week and the BWV 2nd week but prefer to go to the parks 1st then relax and enjoy at VB during the 2nd week.

You will not be cold (that CM must be fronm the equator!:rotfl2: ) and you will have an excellent time!

:cool1:

I agree with the others. There are no cold breezes in August. :lmao: Somebody dared somebody to say that.

Busy at VB is not like busy at WDW. You will enjoy your relaxing stay.

The only thing in August you'd have to worry about is hurricane season...

We've gone to VB the past two Augusts and are heading back this year. The first year the water (ocean) was like bath water, last year it was only in the 70's the day we arrived. Two days later the ocean was extremely rough and it was dangerous to go in the water. Didn't matter because the pool area is to die for. On the weekend they have a DJ, there is dancing and all sorts of fun games for everyone.

By the time I decided to do Vero all I could get was the weekend so we will be in Vero for two nights-8/10 and 8/11. I am so excited.

We will rent a car from 8/9 until 8/14 and go to Universal Studios and Island of Adventure the Thursday before we go to Vero and the Monday after we return from Vero.

I have been reading everything I can about Vero. Thanks for the advice

Have a great time at VB. You may be lucky to see some sightings of hatching turtles....I think that could be happening when you're there. If you want to go to VB for a longer time, I suggest keep calling.

Hoping you get lucky! Funny a couple of years ago.... VB easy to get ressies.... 2 hurricanes do their best to wipe it out and now it is VERY popular! :goodvibes

Isn't life funny. As soon as we can't get something we want it more.

Mahusky, when in aug. are you going to be at BWV and Vero?
