BUZZ's Brigade - TEAM CHALLENGE - POST MILES/HOURS HERE

Kathy,

Here comes a group hug your way. :grouphug:

I'm so sick of this weather I don't even want to run anymore. We went from a Blizzard one weekend to A ton of rain and flooding here in Central Ohio and then it turned back to snow last night and iced over. Life in OHIO! :thumbsup2

I've got in 20 miles this week, but still have to do something tonight. That is if I can talk myself into it. All I want to do is eat and watch basketball. :rotfl2:

Hi Gang,
Pretty slow week here, hope someone will pick me up.

I did a race on Saturday which is my only saving grace because I get double miles. I ran in a 5K then continued on until I caught my wife and fished her 5K with here so I at a least get 6.4 miles X 2 - 12.8 The only other day I ran was Wednesday for 5 miles. At least I worked out a couple of days.

Miles 17.8
Time: 3:45

Lowest totals yet. But for the next few weeks I probably won't be putting the miles on as I have nothing planned! I wouldn't mind doing some of the 5Ks around here, but heck, I don't like getting up at 5:30a.m. on a Saturday. I've decided, I'll only get up for a 10K and above :)

Let's go team!
Duane

Kathy - Another :grouphug: and hope things get better soon. Maybe it's just the time of year. Seems like a lot of us are just in a funk right now.

Last week was a little better since I did a 5K on Saturday. Then we walked all over downtown afterward watching DD march in the parade.

Miles: 9.5
Hours: 2:15

We're having some crazy weather here: snow, rain, hail, more snow, more rain, etc. I'm so not a cold weather girl, so I was lazy for yet another week. I walked to and from the library with one of my sons and that's it.

Miles: 3.35
Time: 75 minutes

Kathy - You are a MARVELOUS leader! :thumbsup2 Sorry you are having a rough time.

Ok, I was on Spring Break with my kids this week, but tried to still get in some miles and time. I walked a bunch at the Aquarium and the Zoo, but have no idea of how far, so sorry I can't count that. :sad2: Should've brought my pedometer. :headache:

Anyway, here are my totals for 3/14 - 3/20:

Miles: 15.18

Hours: 4 hours 10 minutes

I have a 5K next Saturday. I'll report back on how I do.

Go Buzzies!!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hi Team,

Long time, no see or hear. I am so sorry about that. We have just been crazy busy, We had illnesses and some minor injuries the past few weeks, so I took that time to catch up on some things I had been putting off.

Anyway, I got back into it very slowly. My miles for the past week are 6.23 and I did 2 hours 10 minutes.

Next week is my youngest's birthday and then we have Spring Break coming up in early April. I hope to have some good weeks coming up -- although Spring Break will be difficult. I need to get back into it though. Minnie is just around the corner and I'm way to slow. I know I can do the distance, but I feel certain I can't do the time. I just need to get in front of those sweepers and stay there as best I can. They do sweep for the Minnie, right?

Anyway, things are still busy and will be until after Easter and the birthday, but I wanted to check in. I hope to catch up next week.

Again, I'm so sorry for my extended absence. Please feel free to e-mail me and tell me to get my youknowwhat in gear if you don't hear from me for an extended period of time.

HI Buzzies!

I just got back from the first part of spring break with my family and have caught up on the threads. Sounds like a lot of us are struggling with yucky weather, injuries and bummer days. Here are BIG HUGS and high fives going out to everyone who needs them!!!!! :thumbsup2 :cheer2: :grouphug: pixiedust: :jumping1: Hang in there Kathy and everyone!

Okay, I have NO miles to report and am not sure how to figure minutes. So here's an educated guess....

Downhill skiing - we skiied 7 hours minus 1 hour lunch and maybe half of the time riding lifts????? so let's say 3 hours of actual excersize each day? What do you think?

Total - 2 days skiing = 6 hours?????
Sledding (walking up a big hill and hauling kids) - 1 hour?

TOTAL - 7 hours???

But I really think that the time skiing with my brother (former ski instructor) should count as quadruple at least. Both days he and I left the family for a few runs and hit double blacks and blacks. Lots and lots of bumps! My thighs and calfs hate me! I'd say "okay, last one" he'd say, "Come on, you got one more in you!" and so it would go until I was DEAD! Too fun!

Anyway, skiing was great! Colorado beautiful! Dumped a foot of snow the day we drove up. Best snow in years! Great weather! Lot's of belly laughs playing games in the evening with the fam. Cranium is so funny! Sometimes we can hardly play we laugh so hard! Mom's cooking - AWESOME! Kids, great! Getting to be great little skiiers. All and all had a great spring break!

Take care all!
Jill

I am at 229 min and 27.82 miles for the week.

Hey there,

My totals this week are: 13 miles, 273 min.

I am having problems with really tight calves, shin splints. I took a week off and all was fine, but the day after my first time back on the treadmill they were back again. I stretch, foam roll, ice, heat and have gotten a massage but I still am really tight. It certainly isn't from going too fast:rotfl: I am going to try compression I read that can help. I tried to slow up a bit on the treadmill, but that actually made it feel worse. I am taking tonight off, but tomorrow I am supposed to do 4 miles. I went to a running store to get my shoes and the first month of wearing them I had no problems, so I don't think it is the shoes.

I hope everyone has a great week!!

Not a fabulous week -- but not my worst either. 11.75 miles, 3:15.

This week I'll be out of town, which will either be very bad or very good for my exercise totals. Let's hope for very good!!! ;)

Go, team! (Hugs, Kathy!) Congrats to those of you regularly logging miles -- You are AWESOME!!!!!!

Hey, Kathy, sending you a huge  sweetie! Oh, and here's one from Howard  and one from Jenn  oh and Andy sends his  too! You've just been the victim of a Keener hugfest!

So, everyone, how are you doing? I WISH I could say things are better, but I've been so sick since we got back from Colorado. We flew out Saturday night to Denver, drove almost 3 hours through a blinding snowstorm to Beaver Creek for my friend's wedding. We arrived about 1:15 am Mountain time, 3:15 am our time. The previous hotel room occupants had the alarm set for 5:30 a.m. Then the fire alarms went off at 8:30. We finally went to get breakfast and then walked/cross-country hiked through the snow for a couple of hours. The wedding was Sunday at 4 and then we took an open air snowcat pulled sleigh up the mountain for 20 minutes to get to the reception. The ride down was in a snowstorm. Monday we were up at 7 am and after teh Bride's birthday brunch, were back on the road to Denver by 10:30 am. We had a brief layover in Chicago. Taking off and landing twice Monday with serious congestion did something bad to my ears and they are still clogged so much that I still can't hear out of the left one. I know, I am SUCH a whiner! I have had every cold symptom known to man since last Monday and I am miserable. My equilibrium is off so much that walking straight is an adventure and TMing is impoossible. UGH!! Beyond that, work is insane. It is completely out of my control and there is no end in sight. :scared1:

So, here is my contribution for the week, due to 2 short gym workouts and that hike on the mountain.
Totals:
4 hours 15 minutes (255 minutes)
26.17 miles.

I hope everyone else is doing great!

Hey there,

Don't mess with those ears. I went diving and then turned around and went skiing. Going from one extreme to the other, I totally messed up my ears. In the mountains, I stood up, got so dizzy I passed out and wacked my head. Finally went to the doctor and had gotten a major ear infection.

So, long story short, if it doesn't get better soon, don't wait around for it to get better!

Take care!
Jill
