Buzz Lightyear Ride - What Am I Doing Wrong??

Finding where your gun hits is essential on Buzz. Some of the guns shoot WAY off to the left or right. When you get one of those, it makes it really hard to play.

So THAT'S the little red dot I would sometimes see, but most of the time, NOT.
I just couldn't understand why there was a ride that could be so hard -I automatically assumed it was all me. Now I know it's partly me, for not knowing how to figure this ride out, but it's also the way the ride is set up to work and not always work..........all because of that little red dot.....
I NEVER got the picture from this ride because I always looked like I was pronouncing very unDisneylike words, which I was.

I bury DH on TSM. I find that ride easy and fun. Could do it all day. But Buzz....I have to pop my blood pressure meds like Pez before even walking near that place! I would feel defeated while still on line - like going up hill on roller skates- why am I even here.......was this really meant to be this hard? I found the Black Hole in the Happiest Place On Earth.....

Thank-you all SO MUCH for your tips and help. I've written them all down and will give it an honest effort next week. But I'm still going in fully medicated - don't want to feel my heart beating through my eyes as I'm trying to focus on all those "Z's".

I can't stand the attached guns. I find it much easier to play at disneyland.

That's a very good point, and I think one of the first ways is when you go in to the ride there is a close target that you can look for your red dot, dh hates the ride because he's color blind and can't see his red dot!

Yeah, I've noticed that. Some of the guns on some cars are severely misaligned. And occasionally you get a gun that is having other problems registering hits, even if you aim and fire accurately.

You have to aim for the crab. It worth a 100k. There is another one that is 100k. I can't remember which one. My dh and kids have gotten the max 1million points a few times.

Okay, so the first thing I have to do, as quickly as possible, is find my red dot and note how straight or not straight it's shooting.....and I haven't even thought about turning, when to turn, when not to........can I just forget about going in circles for now?

So, I never got any points on Buzz. I thought I had it lined up and was doing everything right. Then on our last trip, I realized I'd been trying to use the top part of the gun to figure out where my red dot was, but the beam actually comes out of the center of the gun, not on the top. Oops! The very next ride, I got 800,000 points.

Me too. I can never find "my" dot. Last ride my 4 year old beat me by several hundred thousand points. I rock at Toy Story though.

It's interesting how many people do so poorly at Buzz but are great at Toy Story. My DD always maxes out Buzz, but I beat her every time at Toy Story.

Sometimes I max out (with the hints listed), other times I have a hard time getting past the 1st level! If you do max it out, let them know at the picture counter as you leave. They will give you a button with "Galactic Hero" on it! Sometimes, they'll even make a big deal about it

WHAT??? The competitive spirit in me has awoken. Space Ranger Spin is my favorite ride and now I have to become a Galactic Hero.
