Buzz Lightyear ride glitch? DS6 scored 999,999!

I do it every trip and make sure to text my son a picture to rub it in each time. It's rare I don't hit it. There are several highly valuable targets. I did note last trip some of the good ones did not appear to be working well, as well as some guns out of line - maybe it's time to give Buzz a tuneup!

This is me, except when I get a "bad" gun. But as my friends know, I always ride solo so I can control my position. Plus, when I reach 999,999 on one gun, I switch to the other and start racking up more points. I've gotten 2 mil (999,999 on both guns in a car) twice, and often get 1.5+ million.
The buttons you get from the CMs are the "I'm Celebrating" buttons and they write the score on it with a sharpie or I'm a Galactic Hero. Some CMs don't know what you're talking about, and often they don't have any because a CM hasn't written any up. You can also go to City Hall and have them write one up.
At Disneyland, even though the score stops at 999,999, it actually keeps adding up. When you view your photo at the email station, it will have the full score, in the millions if you scored that high. I know where the high score targets are at WDW, but it's a lot harder for me at DL. So it's nice to have a photo commemorating a high score.

We're a family of five, and my husband, DS13 and DS6 have all been able to get 999,999 once each. As for DS12 and me, no such luck!

I think the Cast Members do it for some of the little ones. My young cousin received 999,999 as soon the ride started for her. She was very excited though!

This happened to me once. It was definitely a glitch, unless I hit some secret power up. The game started normally, but after maybe 30 seconds every time I hit something I got 100,000 points regardless of what I was aiming at. It maxed out at 999,999 pretty quick.

It is quite possible there is a glitch. My group of 9 rode two Fridays ago. My 17 year old niece entered the first room and her score turned to 999,999 without shooting once. I rode in the same cart with her, so I saw it happen. It made riding Buzz somewhat boring for her since she never did anything. We told the Cm at the end what happened, and she was just told congratulations for doing so well. She didn't feel like waiting in the 45 minute long line to go again.

This happened to me yesterday! I am usually terrible at Buzz, but the ride happened to stop a few seconds in, so I was practicing my shootting. I hit the robot's hand, and I got a 100,000 points. I was like hmmm - and then I hit it about 9 more times while we were sitting there. My hubby ALWAYS beats me, so he was shocked to look over and see my score....

It didn't help that I outscore him on Toy Story Mania twice yesterday!

I did this too once with DH and he was SO not happy! Hahaha! Usually he beats me quite handily so I had to really rub it in when I got the max score!

Did he get his Galactic Hero button?

We were there last night and DS who is 8 also got 999,999. I was in the car with him and know he must have hit a couple of good targets because I saw him get 400,000 not once, but twice and then he kept shooting and made it to the top score before we were 3/4 of the way through. I wish I knew what he shot at because I only got a measly 165,000. LOL

We were there Sunday and DS11 got 999999 and was thrilled!! When we got off the ride some grown woman was complaining to a CM about the 999999 she got saying she wanted to go again whining "I didn't get to play"... Ugh!

My husband does this every time we ride. He just knows where to aim. As others have said there are spots that give you tons of points. I never have but then I am always laughing just watching my husband being so intense!!

we rode a few nights ago and my 13 ur old son got 999,999.. I asked about the button when we exited ride they gave it to him and made an announcement about him being the newest galactic hero .. he wore it on the backpack the remainder of our trip!

My favorite thing about Buzz is, and always will be, the painted score on the wall above the ride line when you're on the car heading into the game. It's my actual birthdate and I always try to snap a pic of it as I go under!

We'll be visiting Buzz this Friday and I'll see if I can get lucky with that high score too! I'd love to join the ranks of Galactic Hero!

Wish I had known about the button ! My son scored 999,999 in February and he was so excited . It happened at the beginning of the ride , in the first room . I did catch a picture of it thankfully with my phone.

its very easy to do once you know where the target points are,

in the first room we broke down for around 1-2mins, i just kept hitting the top of the volcano until the score was maxed out! lol

back of the robots hand is another,
i think zurgs ship gives alot of points when the lights go from green to red, i think im not sure.

the CM at the end if you tell them you got galactic hero they can give you a im celebrating button and right on in a sharpie pen glactic hero 999,999 points scored.

No glitch, I hit it on our trip there last month at the very beginning of the ride. Don't know what I hit exactly, but I knew I had to sit the rest of the ride without playing. Wish I knew I could get a button for it, though!

Very possible. Some targets are worth far more than others. If you do this, you can ask CMs at the end of the ride for a Galactic Hero button.

Wait... there's a galactic hero button?????? How did I not know this. I'm definitely going to have to get one the next time I beat DH (it seems at least one of us max out each time we play)

I managed to get the 999,999 one time, last summer, and promptly went to ask for the button which I was going to give to my son, but sadly, they didn't have any. Guess I'll have to try to get it again this summer
