Ok, so My son LOVES Buzz Lightyear. His 3rd birthday is coming up at the end of this month and he wants a Buzz Lightyear birthday party. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can pull it off on a budget??? I cant find any decorations with buzz on them here.....I guess I can get them online, but Id still like some imput from you guys......Thanks

At that age, sometimes just the correct colors will make it big! Not everything needs to be BUZZ, but maybe something blue & green.

My DD3 got new Princess shoes at Target but they didn't have any for my DS3. He was so bummed until he found some tennies that had a blue strip and a green strip. "Hey Mom, here are perfect Buzz Lightyear runners! Can I have them please?" Ummmmm, for $3, sure!! If they had actually had a Buzz on them, I'm sure they would have been $15 just like the ones with the Princess on them!

My point is that maybe a few little things with Buzz Lightyear on them added to green plates and blue cups will make it all look great, and not break your budget!!

Hi Daleswife...my daughter is also turning 3 at the end of the month and wants a Buzz birthday!! What makes me mad about Buzz is they must think everyone who loves him is a boy cuz there is never anything for girls in the theme. But I went through the same thing with her sister. Anyway, I was very suprised to see that not even the party stores have any Buzz items. I did find them online at Birthdaydirect, but I hate to pay shipping and I dont want to spend a small fortune!! I am going to just get plain lime green plates, cups, and napkins from my local Dollar Tree. I will probably end up getting a few decorations online like a banner or something. I am going to make the invitations with lime green card stock and some Buzz scrapbooking stickers. I also found some you can print free online.

I am also disappointed no one has a Buzz cake. I am not sure how to tackle that one yet!!

Hit the Halloween sale stuff!!!! Walmart had pencils and eraser packs with Buzz on them for Halloween, also tattoos and stickers!

I usually end up buying my party supplies online because I don't always like what available in the party stores. Check around and you can find some decent buys.

I do paper plates from Costco with a 'theme' napkin, then a theme dessert plate with a plain colored napkin. I like to do a theme banner or 1 decoration and then just use solid color steamers or balloons.
Check the Creative DISigns board for invitations or other images you could print and use to decorate. You could definitely get a name or birthday disign that you could iron on to a shirt!

For cakes, I ALWAYS get my cakes at Costco; they are $16 for a half a sheet and so moist and delicious! For DD's bday I bought an edible cake image on ebay for $10 including shipping (I could look up the name of the seller if you PM me). They can do any image you provide - again this could be customized by someone at the DISign board - or they may already have a Buzz image. When I ordered the cake at Costco I drew a pic on the order form showing that I wanted a colored border and a few small flowers in each corner. The edible cake image is very easy to lay right on top of the cake in the blank center.

Have you tried the Creative DISigns board on here? They have some really talented people who love creating things for others. You might be able to find some really great stuff there. I know that I got some great Buzz Lightyear images from donatalie. I used them for personalized T-shirts, but those could always be printed on cakes with the edible ink that they have. I am not sure how budget that is, but it might be worth looking into...

I remember looking at a thread where one mom did a Peter Pan themed birthday party for her son using items form the Creative DISigns board.

Good Luck!

We have had Buzz fans in our house since 1995 and have had many parties! Ideas for the cake...you can either bake or buy it with green and blue borders and add fiqures from Toy Story to the cake. They sell a pack at the Disney Store or Target too since they are gearing up for the new Toy Story 3.

Another idea that we did was bake a cake and cut and assemble it to look like a space ship. It is very easy to do...I baked a 9x13 for the base and rounds for the sides. I do not know where the pics are right no but if you google for buzz lightyear space ship you should find a template...

Decoration ideas...Streamer in Galactic blue and Space Ranger Green....You can make a Birthday Banner with card stock and scrapbooking stickers from Michaels, hobby lobby or Joanns
Good luck and Happy Birthday!
