Not yesterday, but today. I had to take DH to work this morning as I needed the car; I was supposed to go to court for jury duty selection at 9am. I pulled into the parking lot to drop DH, pulled into a parking space, and BAM! Don't know for sure what happened (very icy though), but we smacked into the building, hard enough to blow the air bags and lock up the seat belts! It was pretty surreal, lemme tell ya. We are both OK, the car can be driven (but not due to the air bags), damage is minimal, and the court has asked for pictures of the accident but assured me I won't be held in contempt for missing this morning. This is the good news. The bad news is that a friend who does car insurance tells me that 75% of the time, if the air bags have deployed, they usually total the car. I will be... annoyed (searching for a DIS-friendly word here); this is a 2015 Kia Soul with 80K miles on it, no rust, no issues. I'm planning on driving it for quite a few more years... Fingers crossed!
