I am trying to figure out what is best now for me and in the future, which is giving me the DVC Spins.

If Dvc continues to grow and there is a possibility that I might not get to stay at one of the three littles( BWV VWL BCV )then it makes me think that I should buy at one of the three littles ? But if I say bought just enough to stay for 6 days a year lets say at BWV am I guaranteed that I'd get a studio at 11 months out??
Or am I setting myself up to have to wait till the seventh month to book out at another resort because of no avalibility or not having enough points to move up to a prefered view or 1 bedroom.
Hope this makes sense cause even after reading myself I'm :confused3
TIA

We own at BWV. The only time I've had trouble booking what I wanted at 11 mo was Jan 1.

Buying where you want to stay is important only if you can use the 7 to 11 month booking advantage, and you need it. BCV and VWL are the small resorts with high demand. The other resorts will be difficult at peak times and for grand villas. BWV standard view (reduced points) also may go quickly. Otherwise it may make more sense to buy where the overall cost of ownership is lowest. That would be SSR at the moment.

Ok
a little info on myself
I would only be buying enough points resale to stay in studio for 6 days a year.
Not sure which one right now --seem to always come back to OKW but but am considering the BC V and BWV because of location and the possibility not being able to do stairs at a later stage in my life,,,however I'm sure by then a little case of ADDontis will cure that problem.
ssr is beautiful but not a choice for me right now.:goodvibes
I can use the 11th month prebooking as I usually know being in the teaching field when my vacation time will be in advance.

OKW studios are the largest and have very good value for points required and annual dues charged. Buildings 62, 63 and 64 have elevators and you can request first floor for medical reasons.

But with mobility issues wouldn't one of the Epcot resorts make more sense than one of the resorts which are spread out.? Wouldn't I be able to be more independant in getting around on my own at say BCV and BWV?
Maybe i'm just thinking toooo far into the future and should just plan for now.

None of us know what the future holds. If your concern is being mobility challenged, you will probably be using an ECV at all the parks anyway, since Disney accomodations/transportation is disability friendly...you won't have a problem anywhere you call home..:goodvibes

If you buy somewhere else and would be disappointed if you could not book at either BWV or BCV, I say buy BWV or BCV. Since you are able to plan 11 months out, then buy where you want to stay the most.

When I bought in I had a choice of BWV or OKW. I bought BWV because I loved the area and its proximity to EPCOT (didn't even know about the 11/7 month window). I'm happy I bought there since I can book at 11 months out and get a standard view (cheaper points). A group of us travel at a busy DVC time (late October) and I've not had a problem at the 7 month mark booking a 2BR when we've decided to stay there.

In your case, I say trust your heart.

It sounds like you have a great handle on DVC.

Currently you are a teacher, so you can plan more then 7 months and those vacations, I bet are during high demand time, so home resort is important.

Sounds like you have some imminent health issues that you need to consider. I do not have have any mobility issues or have taken anyone to WDW needing assisance (thought about it with my DS) so take my opinion for what it's worth. I would also think that the BCV and BWV would be the best for going to the parks. There are two parks that you would not need to board a bus. To me that seems key. BWV has only one bank of elevators so you could need to travel a ways to get to the elevator. BCV is a smaller resort with two sets of elevators (two main elevators and another one further down) which makes getting out easier. Of course then you must worry about price and availability - BCV is high and difficult.

My experience has been is that if you are arguing for reasons as to why to buy at one of the "littles", then buy at one of the "littles". DVC is at its heart an emotional decision and if you are agonzing as it sounds like you are, go with your heart.

You do not want to be a DVC member and then be kicking yourself because you knew you should have bought at a "little" and us DIS'ers talked you out of it.

I love BCV and SSR. Go with your heart, Disney is about fun - no regrets.

You don't need to justify your decision with logic because that will only make you crazy as I'm sure you'll agree. If your brain is resisting the fact that the initial purchase price of BWV or BCV is slightly higher, keep in mind that this is an extremely minor difference when you realize that annual maintenence comprises the largest part of the total cost.

Buy where you want to stay so you don't have to keep second guessing and stressing yourself year after year. (You'll live a longer, healthier and happier life that way.) Listen to your heart - and your heart is obviously pleading with you to go with BWV or BVC. It sounds like you have a very intelligent heart!

Best wishes,
Dave
