Well, I finally have DH onboard to buy a used WL contract for our 10 year anniversary
I plan on using TimeShare Store.
My question is, is there a pattern to what Disney tends to ROFR?
I thought I remember reading somewhere that it is better to pay more for the points, but have the seller pick up the MF's and closing costs.....But then I thought I saw that Disney tends to ROFR if the buyer doesn't assume any of those fees??
So confusing!!!
I'm comfortable paying asking price on a contract now since the points have come down a bit, but also don't want to over-pay.
THANK YOU THANK YOU for any advice!!! :yay:

Hard to say, often there doesn't seem to be any particular 'pattern' Disney is following or not when it comes to what will make it through ROFR or not.

You can get an idea of what recently has made it through or not reported by posters here by taking a look at this thread by Donald is #1 most recently updated on 5/24.

MFs are based on calendar year so if you're looking at a contract that's stripped of current Use Year's points and/or upcoming UY points there should be room to negotiate with seller on who will pay MFs. You may make any offer you want to seller regarding price, payment of closing costs, MFs .....you never know, you may end up saving some $ but some sellers are not flexible and may not be willing to accept less.

Best wishes :goodvibes

I am in the process of buying a resale at ssr. I was told to offer to pay closing and 1/2 of MF. I used Jaki and ****, they were great and have access to MANY more contracts then you see on their site. Let them know what your looking for and they will find it. I found them much more helpful then some of the other realtors I tried:thumbsup2

On another board, they claim ROFR is handled by a monkey with a dart board and a bottle of Jack Daniels. I think that a pretty fair description.

Don't worry about ROFR. You resale agent will steer you away from offers that have little-to-no chance of passing. Make the offer you want. If it gets ROFRered, there's always the next contract.
