Buying TIW card

Not sure this is the right forum, if not, my apologies.

We're DVC members, and making our first trip to WDW in several years (we use our points at Disneyland mostly).

We've decided that on a 9 day stay, with 5 people on 6 of the 9 days (2 on the first 3) and lots of TS meals, TIW makes a lot of sense for us.

Here is my question. Because we are DVC, we have to buy the card in person.

We are flying in on Saturday December 6 from California, so an evening arrival for us. We will want dinner. I'd like to buy the card before dinner.

We are staying at AKL. What are my buying options? At first I figured DTD because they have guest services, but I don't want to park the car on Saturday night, and I think going by bus could take a while.

Then I thought, if we get there early enough, can I buy it at a park? We will not be entering a park on that day, but is there GS outside the gate? I know we'll miss the AK hours, but Epcot and MK should be open reasonably late and we can, assuming Am flights, be there prior to closing. Can we do that? I assume you can't buy them at the hotels.

Any and all advice appreciated.

You can buy it at Guest Relations /ticket window outside any park or in DTD. But correct, not at the resorts.
