Wondering if it is really worth it to buy tickets online before going or if its just as good to buy once we get to the parks ! ?

It depends on where you're buying them (i.e., from Disneyland.com or some other reseller). If you buy them online directly from Disneyland.com, you bypass having to stand in the ticket booth line (some resellers also bypass the ticket booths, but some do not). Also, if you are planning on buying a three-day or longer ticket, if you buy them ahead of time, you are eligible for one Magic Morning. If you buy them at the ticket booth, you will not get a Magic Morning.

Oh good to know, i didnt know about the magic morning thing. i thought everyone got magic mornings !! I will be buying 4 day base tickets

Indeed buy them in advance. Besides the MM entrance you'd be surprised how long it takes just to buy tickets at the booth.

Not sure if you are familiar with the difference between EE and MM.

Staying at a Disney Hotel guests have EE every day of their stay. EE = Early Entry
Magic Morning comes with tickets that are three or more days and purchased in advance. MM = Magic Morning

MM is only at Disneyland on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
EE rotates between DL and DCA. EE for DL are the same days as MM, Tue, Thur and Sat. EE for DCA is Sun, Mon, Wed and Fri.

Enjoy your time in the parks

I would suggest you purchase them online because depending on when you go to the parks the lines to purchase tickets can be long.

There are also some places where you can get the tickets a bit cheaper. Shopping around ahead of time can really pay off. I have had luck with Last Minute Travel.

Ares, GetAwayToday and way.com are also authorized distributors. I've used the last two; this last time with way.com I was able to get 5 day hoppers for $25 off each ticket. Some of them mail you a voucher which you take directly to the turnstiles, where they exchange it for a regular ticket. Way.com is now sending the actual paper ticket directly to you.
