Buying tickets from a third party

Hi,

We are planning a budget trip to Disney in a couple weeks, and I am considering buying some tickets from a person who couldn't use the ones they bought. I don't know this person, and want to make sure I don't buy used cards.

Does anyone know if there is a way to verify the validity of tickets? Like a phone number/ticket number I can call ( kind of like you can call the back of a gift card and find out how much money is left on it ) ?

Don't want to pass up a chance to save some money, but don't want to get taken either....

It is not advised to to buy third party tickets as this is a violation of Disney policy..and there really is no way to validate that they are good until you get to DL and by that time you are out of luck, you can get a pretty good discount on park hoppers at lastminutetravel.com for a 5 day hopper they have a price of $158 for adults they have the best price I have found so far....

I would be far too nervous to purchase tickets from a third party. I have heard some very sad stories about people arriving at the parks with tickets that have no days! There is no way to check if the tickets have days left until you try to use one. I would try another way of saving money, like pp said, LMT has very reasonable prices. We just purchased ours and haven't used them yet, but here is a thread discussing them.

I thought it was only a violation of policy if the tickets were used?

Thanks for the quick replies....if there is no way to verify that the tickets are useable, there is no way I will buy them! I'll try LMT. Thanks for the advice
