Can I get a AAA discount if I buy my WDW tickets at our Disney Store? :confused3 What about taxes? Do I pay FL state taxes or DE state taxes on the tickets?

No AAA discount and you will pay Florida taxes. If you check the tickets might be cheaper at the Disney Store then AAA. I know at one time they were.

Is there anyway to pay cash and get the AAA discount? What about at the gate?

Tickets are cheaper at Ticketmania than at The Disney Store. TDS prices are exactly the same price as buying from WDW online.

The only way to get the AAA price is to purchase them at your local AAA office. There is no AAA discount at the gate.

I just purchased park tickets at my local Disney store. No AAA discount of course, but you only pay your state income tax, not FL and more importantly not the huge entertainment tax you pay buying them at the gate. I bought base tickets at $195(plus tax) per adult. My local AAA office had four day PH for $235(plus tax) per adult. I believe I have read on other message boards that the AAA prices can differ from state to state. FL state tax by the way is 6.5% I think. Hope this helps :)

The sales tax on Disney Store tickets is 6.5% - and everyone pays that, regardless of where they're purchased. The higher price at the gate isn't due to an entertainment tax. Rather - the lower price for 4 days and up with hopping and/or water parks is due to the advance purchase discount.

*Btw - you paid the same as the gate price on your 4-day base tickets, as there is no advance purchase discount: http://allearsnet.com/pl/ticketchart.htm

This is incorrect in a way. If you purchase a 3 or 4 day pass there is no discount. If you purchase a 5 day or more there is a discount from the gate cost.

There is not a AAA discount, you pay Florida State tax of 6.5% everywhere. Also, if you call a store you are supposed to be quoted the price with the tax included. If you look at the website they will give you the price without the tax, so it appears to be cheaper. The tax is the same online as in the store, but in the store there is no handling fee for tickets. So, even if it looks cheaper online than the store it is not. A lot of people get really confused by this, understandably.

I meant that there was no advance purchase discount on this poster's 4-day base ticket. There are no advance purchase discounts on any MYW base tickets. You get the advance purchase discount beginning with the 4-day ticket as long as you have the park hopper and/or water park fun and more added.

Maybe the ticket price chart from Mousesaver's will be clearer:

I was told by a Disney phone rep that no discounts apply to Disney tickets unless it's a Disney discount. He explained that while I may purchase my tickets from a AAA agent, the price is the same as it would be if I ordered online or on the phone from Disney (i'm talking about the ticket price, i realize taxes might be different) Is this not true?

The Disney phone rep was incorrect. To see AAA prices, go to www.aaa.com - put in your zip code, and your motor club should come up. You can see which WDW tickets your particular motor club carries and at what price. I just checked prices for the St. Louis area AAA, and their prices are definitely lower than Disney's advance purchase prices. And discounters such as Ticketmania and Undercover Tourist generally charge even less.
