Has anyone just bought a stroller from Walmart in Orlando instead of renting? Last march we rented one for 13 days and it would have been cheaper to just buy a Walmart one to use. We were thinking of buying one and giving it to someone in the park our last day. Any thoughts? Has anyone done this?

I have heard of others doing that. The only thing is it depends on how cheap you go. The stroller may not last. Also what features you want. Will your LO want to be able to nap in the stroller, do you want a nice storage area for a cooler or other bags, and depending on weight you will need to spend more on a stroller then those cheap umbrella ones. If your there for a long time it may break before your trip is over.

We thought about just buying an inexpensive one before we left instead of renting but decided to stick with renting because none of the cheaper strollers really fit our needs. As a previous poster mentioned it all depends on what you are looking for. For us we will be needing a double stroller with fully reclining seats that's fairly small in size and none of the cheaper strollers we found fit those things for us.

I think it's an option that could work if they have what you're looking for. To be sure that the store will have it in stock for your trip you could always try the ship to store option on their website. I've never used it so I'm not sure how accurate their delivery dates are but it could be worth a shot.

We opted to buy a cheap umbrella stroller for our 5 yr DD years ago (She's a senior in high schoo now!)She was just too small to walk the parks all day and since we knew we would never use the stroller again, we went for cheap. We ended up giving it to a thrift shop after our trip. It was WAY cheaper than renting. :thumbsup2

Yeah I was thinking of getting a single from Walmart that's around $50. Last year it cost us 120 to rent one I haven't priced one out for this time but I'm guessing they have not gone down in price. I looked on Walmart web page and it looks like I would be able to get an ok one for around 50. Just wondering if its worth the hassle.

I think it really depends. The last time we were there, our twins were 4. We had several double strollers at home, but opted to rent from WDW because we only needed it in the parks (didn't want to drag it through the airport, resort, or on the buses), and it met our needs (easy to push, easy in and out for the kids - didn't need something comfy to nap in). So, we paid for the convinience NOT to have to bring it everywhere.
