Just curious, if you buy stocks via the web, what service do you use, and what do you like/dislike about the service?

I have always traded via a local bank, done well with them in retirement acct., but am thinking of doing some investing on my own. This would be money I can play with a little, using mostly to help fund WDW trips:goodvibes

I use Sharebuilder. I have been using them for years. I think it is $4 a trade when you set up automatic investments. I have accounts for me and my two girls. The girls actually buy Disney Stock thru Sharebuilder. At the time I set up the account, Sharebuilder had some of the lowest trade rates, so that I why I went with them at the time. They also often offer promotions if you set up account, so a little bit of free money. There are now a lot more options, but I just stuck with Sharebuilder.

I am not a major investor, I just put a little in there each month.

I also have a couple of Capital One 360 savings accounts and they are all linked, so that is an added bonus.

TD Ameritrade. We have used them for many, many years. My DH handles all of our stock purchases, but he has been really happy with them and their service.

I bought my first stocks at 18 on TD ameritrade and continue to use them today

I also use Sharebuilder. They are easy to manage and recently lowered the cost of real-time trades to $6.95. Automatic investments are still $4 -- a good deal.

I use Sharebuilder for automatic investing and TD Ameritrade for my regular investing.

sharebuilder. It goes in automatically, I love that I don't even have to think about it.

Tdameritrade, started with them. Tried Morgan stanly moved back to tdameritrade.

Likes. Low cost, friendly web page, someone answers the phone.

Dislikes, none thought I needed a fin adviser, but happier without.

Negatives to Morgan Stanley, incredible high fees, attempted to charge 150$ a yr to have an account with multi multi thousand in it. Sales man double talked me into it then waived it... But only for the -at yr, cancelled the following jan. No one to answer the phone, just 19 different transfer/options and hang up on you 3 times trying.

Liked. Nothing I thought they were crooks after how I was treated.

Wells Fargo - I'm a PMA customer so I get 100 free trades a year, I can transfer easily between accounts at one place, and about 90% of my finances are on a single statement. (except 401ks)
