Ive read here that a good place to get some snacks prebought is at the Auchan. I was just wondering if that is in walking distance from the DLH. Or alternatively if anyone can suggest anywhere outside of the park near to the DLH that I could get to easily to pick up some snacks during the day.

Thanks!

2 days to go - DLH/DLP - first trip! pirate:

The DLP buses go to the Val d' Europe but it's not open on a Sunday and when we were there 12 days ago they wouldn't accept American Express Travellers Cheques or the American Express Travellers Cheque Card!

I'm sure they did when we were there last year but no not this year!

The train station has a few places to shop - a small grocery area and some baguette/bakery type places. Prices are better than in the park, and quality is quite good. You could stop there on your way into the park.

Auchan is an RER ride away - just the next stop, cost is 1,40 euros but as noted not open Sunday.

There is also a petrol station next to hotel santa fe, the prices there are reasonable.

As far as i'm aware no Auchun accepts amex not even the one in Calais.

Yes, American Express is still not as frequent in France. I spent 6 weeks in Paris with my Amex and really only used it at Paul, the patisserie, and a few other places

I took a plastic lunchbox in my suitcase and filled it with cereal bars, flapjacks, boxes of raisins and packs of peanuts for snacks.
Originally I was going to go to Auchan but decided it would take too much park time and it was def the right decision! We never even made it out to the train station to buy snacks :rotfl2:
