I am looking into buying resale because it looks to save me a lot of money. If you buy resale it will obviously be in my and my husband name, but can we put our daughter name on it also? So it will go to her if something happens to us??

Also can we give out points to our daughter of family member if we can't go one year??

How hard is it to rent out points??

Yes you can put your daughter's name on it but you don't have to in order to give it to her-you could specify that in your will and make her an associate member for now which would give her booking privleges.
If you put her name on the deed she will then have all the full member benefits you do BUT it will be a joint assest which mean if she were to get into financial trouble a lien could be placed against it and if/when you might want to sell she has to sign off on the sale too.
Yes you can use your points to book rooms for other people (family members, friends, or renters)-you actually book the reservation online or with member services but make it in their name(s). DVC rentals are very popular right now both privately and through brokers-where you own and how far out you make the reservation determine the price per point. Once again you don't rent or give out your actual points-you will book the reservation on behalf of the other party/family member (and if you are renting then they pay you based on the # of points the reservation cost you) as only DVC members can access the website/member services

I'm pretty sure you have to be 18 to have your name on a real estate deed in Florida. If she's not old enough, I suppose you could hold it in a trust.

Yes, sorta. You can't give points to someone unless they also have a DVC account, in which case you would transfer points from your account to their account.

If she doesn't own DVC, you can still make a reservation for anyone with your points.

However, you should be aware that you are responsible for all aspects of any stay using your points. So if a guest damages a room or charges items to the room and doesn't pay for them, you would be responsible. That rarely happens, especially with friends, but it is possible.
