I have all my DVC points from various contracts in the same user month. I am looking to pick up more points but wonder if anyone has experience/difficulties if their new contracts have a different user month. I was told if the months are not all the same you will be issued another entire ID number. Can all the contacts be viewed online at once or will you actually have two different logins with two different accounts? Does this ever become a hassle when making reservations? Anyone who has experience with this--I would appreciate your input. Thanks!

I have two different membership cards due to having two different use years. You will only have to log in once to find all your information. One contract follows another and you will be able to scroll up and down to view your info. Having two different use years requires a little more thought when making reservations and banking deadlines but is not all that much trouble.

We have two different use years months also. The two contracts have absolutely no relationship to each other. Each must be managed totally separately.

For example, you cannot combine points to make a single reservation. They have their own banking windows.

For DVC, you only need to log in once, but the information for each of the contracts will be displayed separately, so you can only look at one of them at a time.

There are a couple of computer programs available to keep track and manage points. I know of one in particular that is very good...:thumbsup2

While I can only answer some of your questions, I am in the process of closing on a contract with a different UY. I'd say if you're current UY works well for you, buy the same UY. I hate ours, so when we decided to add on, the pros definitely outweighed the cons.

The major downside of a different UY, aside from having to watch 2 separate banking deadlines, is the ability to pool your points at the 7 month window. You can, however, link reservations. So, let's say at 7 months I wanted to make a VB reservation, and I needed 100 points. If each night was 20 points, I could use 80 SSR's points for the first 4 nights and 20 VB points for the remaining night and just as MS to link the reservation. However, let's say I had 90 SSR's points but needed to borrow 10 points from my VB contract in order to complete the 5 night reservation. In that scenario, I would have to transfer the 10 VB points in order to complete the reservation. Dis will only allow 1 transfer per UY, in or out.

As for the login, I'm not sure how that will work, as we haven't closed yet. However, from what I've read on-line, most people buy different UYs because they travel all year round and having multiple UYs benefits them. It reduces their risk of losing points in case they have to cancel or reschedule.

Caskbill - you are being too modest. I use your programs to manage my 4 contracts across 2 different use years and happily recommend them to everybody I come across. :yay:
